I am trying to pick a lightweight stroller to add to my registry. I was looking at this Stroller but I feel like I won't be using it for a really long time. A friend told me to register for these types of things, though, because time will fly and I'll be using it before I know it.
Can anyone recommend a good one (ETA: I should specify lightweight umbrella!) ?
Re: Lightweight Stroller?
Definitely register for that stuff. Time flies and you'll use it sooner than you think. I personally wouldn't get that stroller bc it's not Very sturdy/rugged; I have used this style through the airport, on sandy beaches, gravel, playgrounds, etc and having a more sturdy stroller helps. I like the Chicco c7 or Maclaren styles. We used this type of stroller today at 4 months bc we were going to be on a shuttle and going to a party in tight quarters where I didn't want the big bulky system.
We have the city mini and I love it. It's so easy to pop up and fold up. It's incredibly easy to maneuver through stores (I'd rather take it than put his car seat in a store cart). I've been noticing other people's strollers lately (hyperaware + insane number of people out shopping) and it seems like so many are hunched over because the stroller/handles aren't all that high and they look terribly uncomfortable. I don't know what brands they are using but whatever it is they look no good. I don't want to be hunched over anything.
We love our City Mini. We have a Maclaren Quest Sport too, and I hate it. It doesn't push as smoothly or easily as the CM. You can use the CM from birth with (and maybe without as it has a really far recline) the car seat attachment.
We still take our City Mini everywhere - the mall, the zoo, festivals, etc - anywhere there are crowds to navigate through. It's just easier to use than our Maclaren.

This is a good point. We may also get gift cards and such, so maybe I will wait. It really is hard to know what we will like and what will work for us. From what I hear, BRU is a nightmare for returns.
I wish we had a buybuyBaby. I just returned a shower curtain and rug to BB&B last week from my wedding shower registry (over a year ago) and had zero problems.
right! I meant it won't be long before you can use the stroller part for the baby to sit it-I should have clarified, woops! You need to get the adapter for the car seat but I find it to be worth it. I wasn't sure if maybe you had a snap n go already for the car seat phase.
We have this one. The Chicco capri. I love it. lightweight Folds up nice has a strap to carry it and a bag. we used it for a very long time. I like to take walks with it because it isn't as hard to push on all the south hills hills. My son is on the smaller side but fit well into his 3s. I actually loaned it to a friend and sometimes I wish I had it to use and he is 4! lol. (i don't know the weight limit on it but like I said he is small still only 35 lbs!)
I dont; see too much difference between this and all the "super fancy celeb. indorced" umbrella strollers. I imagine it works just the same and at $60 is about 1/2 the price of some!!
Totally worth it thought to go $60 and not cheap out on $12 or even $20 ones. they are very flimsy and SHORT!

We have this one too - it's a great height for me, b/c I'm on the tall side. I wish the basket was bigger, but it works for my needs. And with the 5-pt harness, I've been able to use it when Gavin was around 12 months old and a little younger for Conall.
Good luck! (I was wondering if there was anyone else around here who was pregnant!)

ETA: I was responding to Jef's and Northhills photo. It helps to hit "quote" instead of "reply!"
This one is a good contender! We are already registered for a larger system (that I hope I will like), but this looks like the size I was thinking.
Northhills... you are not alone!
I adore our Chicco LiteWay Stroller. It is super light and durable. This thing has taken a beating and still looks brand new. http://www.amazon.com/Chicco-05060886970070-Liteway-Stroller-Fuego/dp/B001ODAHF0
Happy Registering!
