Dude...20+11 with mono?!?

Yes, I am a married 31 yr old woman that has been diagnosed with mono! WTF?!? I haven't been kissing on Santa Claus! I'm so confused as to how I got it...

Re: Dude...20+11 with mono?!?

  • Mono is a virus, and travels through saliva or mucus. You don't see symptoms for 4 to 6 weeks after contact.
  • Woo! Mono!

I became anemic after getting mono. I have to take vitamins with iron in them because my iron levels aren't what they should be. Even with the vitamins I'm sometimes off by a point.

I got mono from the Challis during mass. That is the only place I ever, EVER, shared a glass. My parents don't like drinking from it so they were ok. They don't share glasses or cups either. Then about a month later a new drink came out that tasted like starburst, I think it was a fruitopia, and just had to share with two friends. (It was that awesome that I shared a drink). I felt a bit off the day of my Junior Prom. Then ended up sleeping the entire dance in Hs arms. I woke up in time for the very last dance. We danced and enjoyed the last few minutes. Probably a week later I was soooooo sick. No one else in the school had mono that year. Then a month or do later my two friends I shared my drink with got sick as dogs. H on the other hand never got sick or had any symptoms of mono even though we kissed, a lot! Go figure.

Get better. Mono is no fun. Rest rest rest!

  • I know a lot of adults who have had mono. It happens. Hope you feel better!
