NYE in Montreal

So - after all our dreams of a warm escape from NY for the holidays, we did a complete 180 and booked Quebec and Montreal 12/28 - 1/2. Now, I'd welcome any advice on New Year's Eve in Montreal! DH and I are in our mid-30s and, emphatically, are not club scene people. We love having fun and food/drinks in a great company, but huge crowds and loud music are not for us... should we just stay in, or is there any party designed just for us? :) Thanks!

Re: NYE in Montreal

  • We've done NYE in Montreal twice.  We're also not club people!  A ton of restaurants have special NYE parties that include dinner and dancing.  We weren't really into that either though, so both times we just had dinner where we felt like then went to Le Place De Arms for the festivities there.  It's outdoors and they have live music, cider, cocoa, treats, etc and fireworks at midnight.  It's freezing cold and busy but fun!

Also, you should check out the Fire on Ice at the Old Port.  It's a fireworks show and is spectacular!

    Have a great time!
