Something I think is a little sad

When I forget who gave me a Christmas present.  I have a bunch of things I know were Christmas gifts but I don't remember who gave me half of them.  I feel very ungrateful when that happens.

  • Aw well stuff happens. I try when possible to write on the girft who gave it to me and when. But that only works on certain gifts
  • Do you exchange gifts with a lot of people?

Yes, a ton.  And talking to you girls makes me think I need to pare down my list a little but how do you tell someone you don't want to exchange gifts with them anymore?

Here's who I exchange gifts with:

My 3 sisters, their boyfriends, my little bro

    My mom and stepdad

My real dad, my g-ma, my uncle and my cousin

My mom's dad, my mom's sister and her husband and their baby

Ryan's 2 sisters and their husbands

    My nephew

    Ryan's parents

One of my g-ma's friends, one of Ryan's mom's friends

My stepdad's dad and his wife

    My stepdad's mom

A secret santa type event at Ryan's family's Christmas eve and then secret santa at both of our offices

    And of course Ryan.

  • Holy cow dude. Thats a lot of people to buy for.
  • that list is waaay too long. I think you just tell people next year (or have your mom spread the word) that you're trying to keep the budget down for x-mas and that you've decided not to exchange gifts. I mean for the babies, sure, but the adults. not necessary. and you could send them a nice card instead.

This. We only buy for the littles in our lives now. Well and our parents. But as for our siblings, we stopped a few years ago.

Yeah I could do that, but I actually really like exchanging gifts with people.  I put a lot of thought into my gifts and a good amount are handmade so I would feel a little sad not doing it.
