i'm still pissed off about this and i don't even live in the state anymore.
i saw the interview with him after the "ceremony" (or whatever it was) and i wanted to punch him in the face. nice choice in clothing, very appropriate and respectful.

My first thought was 4/20 too! I know that it's not uncommon for celebrities to get a "day" in the town/city they are from, but I'd like to think they've all paid it back to their city in some way. Unless I'm missing something, I'm not sure Wiz has done anything for Pittsburgh.
Exactly - this is basically a desperate way for Pgh to get recognition. It almost seems like we're begging for ANY kind of attention that we can get. Pathetic.

i don't think that song is a good enough reason to be awarded a day of your own. The drug possession charges should outweigh it all. He doesn't care about it. He doesn't do anything for the city.
I didn't say that it was a good enough reason, I agreed that the whole idea of it is ridiculous. I was just asking if people really hadn't heard of him or that song until today.
ETA-and not just people on here saying they've never heard of him, I heard people calling into a radio station this morning (where they've probably played that song a million times!) saying they've never heard of him.
