Since it's 12/12/12 I thought maybe we could have a post about 12 somethings. We do the thankful thing a lot or things we would wish for if we won the lottery. So I thought we could try something else.
How about your 12 favorite memories? (Holiday or non-Holiday related, doesn't matter)
Re: 12/12/12
1. Seeing both tests say positive on July 4th. I honestly thought I wasn't pregnant and was laying there telling myself they'd be negative. Just seeing those and being so shocked yet happy. Then bouncing on the bed to tell DH. It was only 6:30 in the morning.
2. Getting to say I do in a beautiful lodge with snow coming down outside. I love having the memory of snow falling outside the window while we said our vows.
3. Scuba diving on our honeymoon! It was so awesome. I was terrified of doing it but I loved it.
4. Earning my Associates Degree. It felt so great to finally complete a degree for something.
5. When DH proposed. He totally surprised me during our yearly walk/drive through the park's Christmas lights.
6. When I met DH in person for the first time. We'd met online and talked on the phone for hours every day. So that first in person meeting was so nerve wracking but it turned out great.
7. Going to Hawaii with my family for my grandparent's 50th anniversary. I loved that trip. I got some great sister time in and really enjoyed celebrating that special moment with my grandparents.
8. My first Christmas with DH. We'd been living together for 10-11 months. We had a real tree that year and a lot of snow. It was the start of us combining our traditions.
9. 4th of July as a kid. We would always go to a lake in Nebraska where my Great Grandparents had a house. All of my mom's cousins with their kids would be there. It was a huge family get together. Lots of fireworks. Great memory of that holiday.
10. Buying my first car. Not the junky one I bought from my parents out of high school. The first real car I bought. At that point in my life, I really needed a reliable vehicle and being able to afford it was such a huge thing for me.
11. Doing donuts in the parking lot at Christmas time when I was kid. One time my mom had to stop by work to pick up something. It was Christmas Eve and some of my cousins were with us. The parking lot was empty so we did donuts in the car. Love that memory.
12. Adopting my furbaby, Parker. He was so tiny and cute at the shelter and friendly. I loved that he was so calm and wanted to play. He was the first pet I had picked out for myself since I was a kid. I went with every intention of getting an orange tabby but ended up with a gray one. He totally picked me out.
Wow this is tough!
1. Meeting my kids for the first time after they were born.
2. All the wonderful memories I have had with my grandmother and all the traditions she taught me so I can carry them on into my family.
3. At my wedding I had a cake disaster and everyone laughed and joked about it. I will always remember that horrible cake as the best part of my wedding!
4. I love going to live sporting events but favorite is the Broncos games. I have been going every year around my birthday since I was 7.
5. I love going into the mountains when it is all cold and snowy! It is so pretty.
6. Going out for a fancy new years eve dinners and getting all dressed up.
7. Spending time with family watching my brother and sister play basketball.
8. When my hubby tells a joke he thinks is funny but no one else does.
9. When I change a clients day because of what we talked about.
10. Buying our first house
11. Falling in love
12. Making and eating breakfast. Everyone in my house is always happy at the fresh start to a day.
It was tough. I think I got to 8 and was thinking "how many do I have left?" But reading yours it makes me think - oh yeah that too.
