Asking questions at an interview

I have a second (I'm pretty sure final) round interview tomorrow. I asked some questions I had at my first interview but I didn't get to ask them all. I felt like it wasn't really encouraged to inquire too much and I didn't remember a lot of them anyway. For my second interview, do you think it would be ok if I brought along some written questions and a note pad so I can remember them and record the responses or would that be awkward?

Re: Asking questions at an interview

  • I have in the past. I think people want to hear questions so they know you're interested in the job. Make sure they aren't questions that can be answered from a handout/internet that they have given you though.

     GOOD LUCK! Big Smile

  • I'd see someone bringing a pre-written list (or thoughtful, not easily answered via internet searching) questions to show genuine interest and organization. I bring agendas to most of my meetings so I can remember what my primary points to cover were. Brains are flighty. I say go for it (but DO make sure they're not things you could get by personal searching).
  • Defintely write them down. But feel feel to skip around on your list if you think they've already answered something for you. And, don't ask something you could find online.
  • In my line of business we are expected to bring in notes and lists of questions to an interview.  Just make sure they aren't canned, general questions... make them relevant to the actual company.

  • Thanks guys! I brought a pad with a list of questions and it worked out well. My nerves were so frazzled though I forgot to ask the most important question - what are the next steps in the interview process? I followed up with an email as soon as I got home though so I think it'll be fine.
