Commute Part 2

I know I asked about Horsham the other day, which figures to be a nightmare from Center City.  Would Huntingdon Valley be any better? TIA!

Re: Commute Part 2

  • It's pretty much the same commute.  They are pretty much two townships apart.

ditto this. There really is no quick and easy way to get to CC from HV or Horsham. It's all pretty much a PITA. Are you thinking about driving? You could take the train. Not sure where in HV you are talking about, though.

  • I have no idea myself where exactly in HV in terms of proximity to the city, etc.  My sister mentioned something about 95 to Woodhaven and then going from there.

  • 95 to woodhaven would be ok, except once you get off Byberry , it is a nightmare there.

No matter what time of day, the expressway is crazy, but you can jump on there at Broad, take that up till it turns into the Blvd, get off at Adams Ave and take back roads into HV.

When I'm going up that way, I'll take 76, but get off at Rising Sun (couple of lights before Adams) and take that across.  Unfortunately, you go through Olney and Lawncrest, which used to be nice areas.

  • We live in HV and my husband does that commute to Center City every day.  Often times he will just take the train, but the times he has to drive to court he hates it.
