Cat Health

My cat has over-groomeed herself to the point where there is no hair on one side of her neck.  Now she has started on the other side.  She had done this once before, to one side only, but stopped after about a week and the hair grew back.

This has now been going on for almost 3 weeks--and I'm thinking maybe I should take her to the vet.  There are no other problems that I'm aware of, she's eating fine, not losing or gaining weight, goes to the bathroom fine in the litter box and doesn't appear to be scratching herself or anything else.

Thoughts?

Re: Cat Health

  • My brother's dog was doing something similar. They took him to the vet, and he was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder. So I'd probably take her in to get her checked  out.

  • they can get skin conditions and allergies too.  They can be given medication for it.  My sis' cat has all kinds of issues...
