There are reports coming out of a school shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, CT (my parents live 10 minutes away in the next town)
T&P's that everyone makes it out safely. School shootings always make me sad, but an ELEMENTARY school, really?! So awful... I can't imagine how frightened all those children and their parents must be right now.

That is the most horrible thing ever! I think it is bad enough at high schools and colleges but at least then you are dealing with adults or almost adults (people who should have enough common sense anyway.) But an Elementary School I mean come on those kids are innocent and don't even understand what's going on.
PLEASE! keep us updated on this and let us know what's going on. Praying for these families.
The school is being evacuated. They're reporting 3 injured so far- 2 children and 1 teacher.
The gunman is dead, but they're unsure if there was a 2nd shooter.
Apparently there is a second shooter, who is now driving in a van towards Danbury. My friend's sister works in the Newtown school system (not that school).

Omg. Reports now saying 27 are dead including 18 children. This is so heartbreaking. I'm sitting at my desk trying not to cry.

This is the lowest thing a human can do. Innocent children being shot. Sickening. It seriously makes me want to cry. I can't imagine what those parents are going through. And those poor kids. What on earth was this guy thinking? This reminds me of a few years ago when a guy opened fire on a school house of Amish children. So incredibly sad.
It just keeps getting sadder- 29 dead, 22 of them children.
And it was just confirmed that one of the teachers in the school was the shooter's mother... and he shot and killed her.
This is sickening.
