Just About Kids (daycare)

I wish the Search feature actually worked so that things wouldn't constantly get asked... but... I forget who uses/used Just About Kids in McMurray (I think that's what it's called).  We're about to dig in and visit some places and I'm trying to compare prices and not fall into a deep depression.

Do they have their own website?  Everything I found on Google was a third party site.  If anyone can PM me with some infant info or anything they have, it would be greatly appreciated.  I'm assuming they take infants.  Thanks!

Re: Just About Kids (daycare)

  • I used them when I worked in McMurray.  DD started at 8 months and we stayed there until just before she turned 3.  They do have a site: http://www.jakchildcare.com/ but it is not very informative--although I've found that most daycare site's aren't.

I'm sure prices have changed since we've been there, but if I remember correctly the price for fulltime care in the infant room was $1005/month, if you paid monthly by the 1st of the month.

I found that their prices were middle of the road for that area.  Cheaper than Kindercare/goddard school, but  more expensive than the other's that I toured sunshine kids and McMurray Childcare center.

Miss Patty in the infant room is such a sweetheart and so good with the babies.  And Miss T the owner is so easy to work with.  I really like that the rooms are separated by half walls--so everyone can see what is going on in the next room.

ETA:  If you go tell Miss Patty and Miss T that Amy, Brinley's mom says hello!

  • Thanks!  That's just a little more than another one I found -- a $65 difference per that price.  I'm seriously getting so depressed thinking about these numbers.  It makes me wish my mom lived just a little closer (she would gladly watch the LO).

I remember when you posted that Brinley was leaving -- didn't they do something really nice for her last day?  Wasn't it Brinley Day or something similar?

  • Daycare is expensive--we've discovered though, that you get what you pay for.  When we moved we started at a cheaper daycare (because they had an opening) and it was so awful we had to switch by day 2.

They did--she was in the 3 year old room at the time and they did all of her favorite things, had her favorite snack and had all the kids draw pictures of her that they put together in a book.
