Re: Confessions

  • I should be working...but I'm taking a little break.

I fed my kids poptarts for dinner on Tuesday. Noah has ice skating lessons, and I was too busy to leave work early that day to get dinner before we had to leave.  They needed to eat something portable in the car.  And I knew they'd eat those.

  • DH quit his job this week.  He'd worked there for 22 years.  The owner had been completely taking advantage of him for the past few years, coupled with an incident that happened was enough to break the camel's back, so to speak. We talked about it, agreed it's for the best and have a plan of action--but I'm still terrified.  The plan of action involves a lot of risk on our part.

  • 1 - I really want to read the Parenthood thread, but I haven't watched the episode from this week yet.

2 - Last night was Todd's daycare party, so I didn't have dinner duty and once we got home I let the kids play on the computer for 90 minutes while I worked on Christmas cards. Then at breakfast this morning we realized that Heather hadn't finished her homework due today. Go, mommy!

3 - I would much rather be ticking things off my to do list than working right now.

4 - I bought a few cloth training pants for Todd since he isn't staying dry at night and I don't want to buy pull-ups. There has been a learning curve with them, so I still have had extra laundry to do. And his mattress really needs to be aired out because I think there is a lingering scent on it...causing more laundry.

Also, I only bought two pairs initially because I wasn't sure about fit. I ordered more this week and I am praying that they get here before we go to Ohio or I'm going to have to buy pull-ups anyway since I won't be able to do laundry while we're traveling.

I guess that one is more of a vent than a confession...

  • My Christmas tree isn't up and I don't know if it's going to happen.  I don't feel like doing it if it's not going to be up for several weeks.

Ours is usually up for most of January. The goal is for the decorations to be down and put away before my birthday. ;-)

Our tree is big (beautiful, but big) and our house is small.  I have to take it down in the first week of January or I go nuts over the lost space.

We don't put ours up until around this time...but that is by choice.  I can't stand it for much longer.  It will go up this weekend and down either Jan 1 or the day after.

We haven't done one for a couple years. We just seem to run out of time. We never put ours up until the week before Christmas because we leave it up until at least after Orthodox Christmas which is January 6. Ours isn't up yet because my new kitchen is still in boxes in my hallway.

I need a day off but it isn't going to happen. I have literally worked 11 hours a day since the week of Thanksgiving because our parts manager had emergency surgery so I have been doing both of our jobs. I really should be working but I am seriously burned out.

  • I thought I was pregnant last week.  I spent the whole week freaking out about how we don't have the space/money for another child and not sleeping, waiting for my period to show up.  But now that I got my period, I'm a little disappointed that I'm not pregnant.

along this same line, I sometimes wish I would become accidentally pregnant so I wouldn't have to make a decision if we should have two. And that we would just have to make it work. and other days I am so happy to just have one Wink

You hit the nail on the head!  I feel the exact same way (except I have 2 kids).

same here! We've pretty much decided we are not having another one for health reasons but I had definitely had that thought for the past few years!!

  • I am pregnant...Embarrassed  7 weeks. I go to the Dr. Mon.

it was kinda an accident...I mean clearly we weren't being "careful" but I really thought we had "missed the mark" in Nov. We definitatly didnt say "hey lets make a baby" although it has come up a few times and we haven't decided NOT to either. My DH was pretty shocked. "Sh!t" was not the reaction I was hoping for when I told him and showed him the postitive test! lol.  He quickly came around and is very excited.

SHHHH Don't tell!!! and don't post on FB we haven't told ANYONE not even Adam yet.

We wanted to be sure before we told him. As long as all goes well Mon, we think we are going to tell him and then want to tell our families at Christmas.  We feel almost 9 weeks is ok....we would rather tell for the Holiday then randomly in the middle of January.

I wasn't going to tell you girls either, then I saw confessions and thought  "ohhh I have a secret!" and when I started reading everyones posts about being, not being and maybe wanting to be...well there ya go!!

I also know that doing this at 7pm on a Friday will greatly limit the people who might actually see it! lol.
