Did you have to go to the passport office in person with the baby? Did you make an appointment or just show up?
Re: Passport for baby
I filled out his application and also took my own passport photos and had them printed ahead of time. That was an ordeal but I'm glad I did it because he was sleeping when we went to the post office and I can't imagine trying to wake him and get him to pose for a picture.
Also, both my husband and I went because we both had to sign the form in front of the passport officer.

Yes they do, only certain ones though. Call around because their website isn't up to date.
I went to the one in Levittown in the summer.

I've called 3 of the closest ones from the list and none of them do it anymore.
Apparently you can do it in Doylestown at the Court House. Maybe we'll try that!
Now we just have to work out where to get infant baby passport pics taken.
CVS/Walgreen's would do it but I'd suggest that only if your baby is cooperative.
I just pulled Jack's mattress out of his crib, put on a white sheet, propped it up and sat him in front of it. Here's his little mug shot:

This is so cute!!!
If you go to CVS, bring a white sheet or blanket and put it under the baby in his carseat! easier than holding him up in front of the white screen. We had to do about 10 photos before we got one with his eyes open (he was only 4 weeks old when we had it taken).
We took the photos, forms, etc. to the 30th St. post office in Philly...pretty sure they still do passport applications but you can check online just to be sure.
We're out of the city now in Bucks Co so hoping to find somewhere up here.
The car seat is a good idea, maybe we'll try that. I'd need to buy a white sheet though, I don't think any of ours are plain white.
You could also use a swaddle blanket if you have one! Or, anything white.
The guys at CVS or Walgreens (I forget which) took down the backdrop and I was able to lay DS on top of it for the pic. It wasn't that bad and there was no sitting since he was 10-12 weeks old.
I like the car seat idea though- I will have to remember that one.
Just remember that you and DH have to both be there or have a notarized letter stating that he is okay with you getting the passport.
Passport picture is taken - she cooperated perfectly! Yay.
Going to try and get the application in tomorrow.
