As many of you know, the tragic events that took place in Newtown have effected my family personally. My six year old nephew, who luckily attends a different school, lost 4 of his friends from nursery school and the town's recreation programs. My brother and sister in law have spent this week attending visiting hours and funerals while trying to shield their three children from the chaos that has currently taken over their town.
I've just learned that the Connecticut PTA is planning to create a Winter Wonderland for Sandy Hook students when they return to school in a new building in January. They want to have the building covered in paper snowflakes, having them hang on windows, bulletin boards, doors, from the ceiling, etc. They need as many snowflakes as possible. The PTA encourages you to be as creative as possible remembering that no two snowflakes are alike.
If you?re interested, please make and send your snowflakes by January 12, 2013 to:
Connecticut PTSA
60 Connolly Parkway
Building 12, Suite 103
Hamden, CT 06514
Thank you and happy holidays to you all!
Re: Snowflakes for Sandy Hook
My workplace is doing this on Monday! I think it is a great idea.
Sorry, NQ that your family has to deal with this. Positive thoughts for all!
