This year FLEW by. It seriously feels like only yesterday we were all getting married!
Rants: One of my co-workers is on my list today. Each year, our group gets together, brainstorms, and pools money to get our supervisor a holiday gift. This year, this one co-worker sent out an email a month ago, asking for ideas. I didn't have any ideas, so I didn't respond. Since then, the rest of us have all been asking what the plan is (usually we wait for the supervisor to be at lunch or something, and then we huddle around kicking around ideas). TODAY, while once again asking if there was a plan, we found out that she and another co-worker (new to the group who doesn't know how it has always been) are going in on a gift together. Thanks for leaving the rest of us out. (strike two, since this same co-worker also took over our team-building gingerbread house decorating in the office contest, and told people she didn't need or want their help.)

Raves: My brother came home yesterday! He lives in San Diego, so he hasn't been home since my wedding, basically! I miss him!! Also, it's Friday. TGIF, indeed!
Weekend PLans: Headed to the UCONN/Fordham basketball game tonight with my folks and my little Bro (okay, he's 30, and 6'4.. but still my little bro!) Tomorrow I have a busy day of cooking up my most delicious treats (pretzels, rolos, and M&Ms yum!) and then bringing them to people, and also delivering holiday tips. Tomorrow night I have a party with H's friends, and then my girls are coming over after that because one of our friend is visiting from SC. Sunday will probably be resting, since I have to work Monday

Rants: I am totally annoyed that my boss is taking a couple days off next week after Christmas, and then a few days after New Years. She had also taken the Saturday after Thanksgiving off, too. I am basically sick of this. While I get that she's been with the company for like 10 years, she's the manager, and has vacation time and all that, it still doesn't seem fair that I can't take an extra day around the holiday to spend time with family or do whatever. I could never take a Friday off because that is her day off, and I would love to go to NYC for the Turkey Day parade. No can do. I should have asked for tomorrow off, but I am an idiot and made an appointment with a client to measure at her house. That was my own fault. But anyway. I'm just tired of it. I'd like to have a long weekend too damn it!

Raves: Not so sure I have one at the moment. Lol
Weekend Plans: Maybe some baking. Grocery shopping and try to figure what I am serving Christmas Day! We have my parents, ILs, and my brother and his wife coming to dinner. That will be fun.
Rants: Don't really have one, Christmas vacation has officially started for me (I have all next week off- perk of still being a student!)
Raves: Excited to have a week off, and we're going HOME on Sunday! We live 400 miles from our family, so don't get to see them much. Both of us this year had enough time off that we could make the trip home to spend the holidays with our family. Beyond excited to see all our little nieces and nephews!!
Weekend Plans: Today I'm getting our apt. cleaned up, laundry done, packing, and trying to get all our gifts and everything organized to bring home (so far I have 8 giant bags filled with gifts!) Tomorrow H and I are celebrating "our Christmas", as it doesn't make much sense to bring our gifts to each other 800 miles roundtrip. I'm making a fancy dinner and have cinnamon rolls for breakfast, should be fun. I also promised to bring some appetizers to Christmas Eve with the in-laws and Christmas Day with my family, so I'll be making and figuring out how to transport them tomorrow. Sunday we will be making the drive home to my parents, and I'll help my Mom get ready for Christmas Day before heading to the in-laws on Monday.
And I agree with Zamboni- so crazy that the year is already coming to a close, it feels like just last week that we were all getting married. Hope you all have wonderful first holidays as a married couple!
Weekend Plans? Going out to lunch with my 3 BFFs and FINALLY telling them that I'm pregnant (it's been so hard to not spill the beans yet!) I'm wearing a "Tis the seasn to be pregnant" shirt with a vest over it, then I'll take the vest off and see who notices first...I can't wait!
Rants/Raves?
Rant: I'm sure you all saw my post yesterday about work cutting my hours...I'm still bummed about it and wondering how I'm going to afford rent/car/insurance etc. now.
Rave: It's Friday and I am on "vacation" until next Thursday and I can't wait to see my family and friends for Christmas!

Rants: H has been getting on my nerves lately! It's like he doesn't listen to me and then makes things about 5 times harder than it needs to be. And he tries to do everything at once and won't let me help. It's driving me crazy!!!
Raves: As of tomorrow I will be off for 4 days then work for 3 and off for 4 more days. I need a break!!
Weekend Plans: Tonight H and I are going to dinner and then going to finish wrapping presents. Tomorrow we are going to my dads for the day (2 hours away.) And we will be doing Christmas with them. Sunday I think we are going to the IL's just to visit and then going home to watch football and clean the house. Monday I am going to my moms to help her start cooking for Christmas dinner. And then H and I will open our Christmas Eve presents that night (usually pj's) and then our stockings.
Rants: I have terrible bahumbug spirit right now since my family is all in DE and H and I are not!!! My little sis called this morning to check in with me and tell me it just isn't the same not being here/there and she got a little teary. I'm at work and couldn't!! But it sounds like my niece and nephew are having a blast with my mom and dad and honestly that was the point of all of this....so I'll suck it up!
Raves: I just got my birthday and Christmas gift from my bosses and they are very sweet to me. I am completely grateful which is making me mad because earlier this week I was in tears because I am so stressed out at work. Blah!
Weekend Plans: tonight is our date night : our usual dinner out and grocery shopping. Have to figure out a dinner plan for just the two of us...hmmm?? Saturday is my birthday so Hubby is taking me shopping. He decided I hadn't bought clothes for a long time and needed to spruce up my closet. Ahh....love this man! Sunday H starts his on call shift so I will be cleaning cleaning cleaning. Seems like my house has gotten completely out of control! Probably try to take over some goodies to my grandma before she heads out of town for Christmas too.

Rants: We just had our holiday pot luck lunch at work and lost power!! Luckily we have a gas stove in our office so the food was okay, but we had to move everything last minute because the room we were originally in didn't have windows! It was a little crazy, but in the end everything worked out and everything was really tasty! PS. I've already eaten way too many treats and it's only the 21st.
Raves: It's Friday and next week is a three day week!
WP: Tonight H & I are spending a quite night in. We're renting a few RedBox movies and I'm making pizza from scratch. Tomorrow I'm going grocery shopping and planning a nice dinner. Then I'm spending the rest of my weekend making candied almonds and wrapping presents. Then I'm working Monday :-( but have Xmas and the day after off.
Rants: H turned in his notice at work last Wednesday. They told him not to come back to work out his last two weeks (he's in advertising, and they do this to keep former employees from taking the company's ideas to competitors). So H has been home since last Thursday and making me freaking nuts. Plus, he's been super spacey and not listening at all. I am getting SO frustrated with him!!!
Raves: H and I did Christmas tonight and he got me a beautiful pair of diamond studs- Totally floored.
Plans: Tomorrow we're flying to Alabama to visit family, then up to Indiana to visit my grandma, and then back home- To pack for a week and then move to SF!!!
