I picked up the mail last night and put all of my mail in my purse to open at work today so I could take my time with it.
Sat down at my desk and opened a letter from the dealership where I bought my new car from last month. It was a letter stating that they wouldn't be able to extend vehicle financing to me at this time. I'm like WTF? I bought my car a month ago. They ran my (great) credit and gave me my car! How can they change their mind? They even sent me a bill for my first payment! How can this be?
I read further and it said that they do not make direct loans to finance vehicle purchases and only sell cars if a third party like a bank will agree to buy the contract on their terms. They could not do it for my transaction. I had to wait 20 minutes until the dealership opened so I could ask them what was going on and I was nearly in tears from the stress and anticipation.
After all that it turns out it was a mistake! Their computers were auto-generating those letters and they were being sent out. I didn't know whether to thank the guy on the phone or punch him in the face. But I was SO relieved! I was so scared that I was going to lose my car, ruin my credit, have a heart attack...
I guess not being able to get in touch with anyone at my school isn't so bad after all. I dropped a class before the semester even started and I am entitled to a full refund for the class. Well the money has not been returned to my credit card and my school closed this week for the Winter break and no one is available until January.
Oh well. It's just been such a crazy time.
Re: Scariest morning of my life.
That would have scared me too! I am glad that it was just a mix up.
So how many classes will you be attending in the spring?
Because I work full time (9.5 hours a day) I only have the mental capacity to take on one or two classes a semester. I dropped my first class because I didn't need it. It's so hard and stressful to take on anything else. I'm still wishing for the day where our financial situation changes and I can quit my job and go to school full time.
