Intro & What did you do with your wedding cards?

Hello, and a Merry Christmas to all of those celebrating!I hope to get a little involved on this board! I have an Associate in Arts and BS in Criminal Justice and work in Criminal Research, I have a gorgeous Aussie and a really cute calico. I love painting and drawing, and crafting is definitely getting more exciting to me these days!

My husband and I just got married on December the 8th and we have about 75 cards that I just can't bear to part with, because I'm too sentimental!

I've seen a few card wreath ideas online, one that involves the cards unaltered, another that involves cutting and rolling them, and then I saw 2, 'cardbook' idea which are neat. DH asked me to see if I can find anything else before he makes up his mind!

Did you do anything special with yours?

Re: Intro & What did you do with your wedding cards?

  • Since nobody else has answered...

I kept them in a box for about a year.  Found said  box while packing up to move.  Hadn't looked at it once in that time, so I pitched it.  They have been happily residing in the dump.

  • I haven't done it yet, but the plan is to scrapbook them along with our wedding guest book pages and photos of the guests to make a keep sake.
  • We used a pair of bird cages for our cards at the wedding. I liked them so much they were incorporated into our decor. All the cards still reside in them.
  • Right now, our cards are in a zip-lock bag in the box with all my wedding keepsakes.

  • Over a year later they're still in a box... maybe I'll get around to doing something with them...someday.

  • I saw an idea on Pinterest - I punched holes in each and strung them together with twine. Since then though, I've found a few strays here and there and I don't know whether to add them or not. Still mulling this over after 2 months...

Anyway, about me - I'm 29, working in PR/Web for a community college. My husband is 30, going back to school for Accounting. We love TV, volleyball and music.

  • I re-used the decorations from the cards to make new cards to send to others. I loved getting all the sweet notes from everybody, but I knew I wasn't ever going to look at them again- so I re-used what I could!
  • I've decided to go the cover and twine option and any stragglers that I come across I'll paste into our guestbook on the blank pages. Thank you for the suggestions!
