Weight watchers

Has anyone tried the weight watchers program? Did you like it? Did it work well for you? Any positives or negatives would be good to know. I'm thinking about trying the program, but I'm not sure it's something that I want to buy into... TIA

Re: Weight watchers

  • I don't, but my mom does.  It worked extemely well for her.  She's a life-long member of weight watchers.  She lost I think 30 pounds while doing weight watchers and met her goal.

I just use Myfitnesspal.  Speaking of which...I need to start using it again!

  • I have been using myfitnesspal also... I don't know though, my weight is just bouncing all over the place... Sigh. I guess I just need to stick with it 100% I just got off track with all the holidays.... I'm just not sure I want to pay to use the ww system...

  • My mom has used it on and off for years.  She did the point system.  Once you have the tools & knowledge, you can kinda do it on your own.  So maybe just do a short membership to get you started?  A girl at my work is currently doing it, and is doing amazing!  I think she's lost 30+ lbs!

  • I've heard wonderful things about it and know several people that had great results, but I tried it for 1-2 months and I was just not very good at making sure I tracked my points. I want to try again when I'm more motivated and will be more diligent.
  • I've done it, and loved it. I lost 60 lbs on it. What I loved most about it was that it's not a fad diet. It's eating healthy and exercising and tracking it all. I know you can do something similar with spark people (and other websites, I'm sure), but WW is simplified by the point system. The meetings also helped keep me motivated.

The good thing is that once you reach your goal weight, WW becomes free to you as long as you maintain your weight.

I really have no negatives about WW, and would recommend it to anyone trying to lose weight. It's worth the cost, in my opinion.

I did not know this!  That's awesome!

My cousins have been doing it for a year or so now.  I don't know how much weight they've lost, but if I had to guess, I'd say one went from a size 12 to a 6 or an 8.  They do really well on it.

DH and I busted our humps doing P90X before the wedding and my cousins always bust our chops about how easy WW is compared to what we went through.
