Re: Tree places in HBG Area
Hi Jen!
The last two years we got our tree from Eichelman's (I think that's what it's called) which is located near Ski Roundtop. It's cut your own. All trees are $28. You pay an additional dollar to have it wrapped in netting and can also have the trunk drilled for the spike stand (which if you don't have one....you seriously should invest. It's totally worth the money!) Let me know if you would like directions!
I love the spike stands! Such a great invention. My parents have had theirs for several years and it is great!
We go to McCurdys Tree farm in Dillsburg - 15-20 minutes from our area. They take you out, drop you off and you cut down your tree. We really like it there. www.mccurdystreefarm.com
Hi Jen,
If you're coming from Harrisburg you'll want to take 83 South, to 581, to Route 15 South.
Follow Route 15 South until you get to the Bowmansdale Exit.
Make a left off the Exit and follow the yellow signs that say Christmas Trees! They will take you right to the farm.
According to DH, once you get off the exit you stay on this road for several miles and make one left at one of the yellow signs. You will feel like you're going into the middle of nowhere.
The farm is either Eichelman's or Eshelman's. We've made it to the farm two years in a row by following the yellow signs, so good luck! We've had a great experience there two years in a row. Have fun picking out your tree!
