Graeme was born on Friday night (12/21/12) at 11:33 p.m. -- he was 7 pounds, 10 oz.
I'm probably going to post and run, but my birth story was pretty crazy so I must share... I had been having braxton hicks contractions for a few weeks, and they got more uncomfortable in the last week. Here's the timeline:
10:10 p.m. start having real contractions, immediately they're 2 mins apart. Jump in shower, wash hair, shave (not knowing how far along I really was).
10:30 p.m. leave for hospital (in excruciating pain the entire way)
11:00 p.m. arrive at hospital
11:01 p.m. beg for epidural, they check me and say the baby is ready to come out (no time for meds) and I've already done most of the hard work
11:20 p.m. start pushing (I never thought I could do it med-free, but thank God it was short!)
11:33 p.m. Graeme arrives!
I can't believe how fast it went. For those who don't know, I delivered at CHOP b/c Graeme has a heart defect. He'll be in the intensive care for a few weeks until we have a plan for his open heart surgery. It's so hard not having him home. But he's stable at the moment and is doing ok! We love him to pieces.

Re: Baby Graeme is here!
Wow! What a crazy story. Congratulations and I hope you are all doing well.
Congrats! He shares a birthday with my first born Andrew. If astrological signs mean anything get ready for a spitfire!
T&P with you these next few weeks!
Congratulations!! If you're going to go med free, quick is the way to go!
Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Graeme! Let us know if you need anything!

Congratulations! So happy to hear you are doing well and hope you have him back home with you soon.
Congratulations! He'll be home before you know it.
ETA: I had to cut and paste the link to the pic, he is beautiful!!!
Congrats, he's perfect!
Good luck in the next few weeks!
Wow, I heard the second one can come quicker and G is proof. Hope for a speedy recovery for both of you and congrats!!
Here's a photo:
He's gorgeous E! I'm glad it went so quickly for you. Hopefully he keeps making progress so surgery can be held off for longer.
Been thinking of you guys. Hang in there. Please drop me a message/text if you need to vent with anyone.
I feel stupid asking but I don't want to say his name wrong. How is Graeme pronounced? Is it like Graham or something else?
Congratulations!!! Wonderful news and I'm glad everything went really fast since you had to go med free. He is a beauty. Best wishes, E-syn!
And I wanted to tell you... You probably won't be seeing my friend's wife for a while in the CICU at CHOP. She lost BOTH of her twins the other day and had to have a procedure at Abington yesterday morning to have them removed. She's going to be on bed rest for a while but when she gets back to work I can let you know.
oh my, how awful...i will be thinking of your friend.
My little nuggets
Heather: I'm so sorry for your friend. I hope she's ok.
Lando: you're right, it's pronounced like Graham!
Congratulations E! What a birth story, glad it went so fast!
Best wishes for a quick recovery for his heart surgery, thought and prayers to you guys!

He is adorable! Good luck with his surgery and his hospital stay. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
You are superwoman with that L&D story. Plus, a kid in the NICU and taking care of one at home... whoa. Make sure you are getting enough rest and taking care of yourself too.
TJW arrived 7/28/11
Just wanted to say congrats again and i'm thinking of you guys!!!
