Resolutions for the new year? How about a poll, too?

List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:

What was the high point of the year for you?

What was the crummiest part of the year for you?

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year?

Things you hope will change this year?

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. Happy new year, gals!

Re: Resolutions for the new year? How about a poll, too?

  • What was the high point of the year for you? Getting a horse was pretty cool... can't lie. And definitely putting on a horse show with the nonprofit I volunteer for. Somehow I ended up in the role of "show coordinator," and I worked my butt off to get that thing off the ground. So seeing hours upon hours of blood, sweat, and tears come to fruition was definitely a highlight!

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Hmm. I had a pretty epic meltdown around March that ended with me quitting my part time job and then enlisting the aid of a therapist to get over the hump, so to speak. The first few months of 2012 definitely left something to be desired.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? I want us all to be happy, healthy, and successful.

Things you hope will change this year? A lot of things.

List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness: I can't focus on much but hoping to do okay after the baby is here.  I'm just going to attempt to stay sane and take one day at a time.

What was the high point of the year for you? Healthy pregnancy, strong marriage, happy kid.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Missing Christmas with family because of the flu sucked.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? Hoping for a healthy baby.

Things you hope will change this year? Lose the baby weight, be successful at breastfeeding and managing two kids.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. Happy new year, gals!

  • What was the high point of the year for you? Getting my husband home from deployment. It was a rough six months, so for him to come home in one piece was a sorta kinda miracle.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Probably stating the obvious, but losing Devon was by far the most devastating thing that's happened to me. Ever.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? As long as there isn't a deployment, JJ and I will be making the move to Colorado sometime this year, which will be a huge change [but one I'm looking forward to]. We also will start TTC again this year, and we're both hoping for our rainbow in 2013 or 2014.

Things you hope will change this year? Want to lose some weight and get in shape - plan to run the OKC Memorial 5K in April, so gotta get on it. More importantly, I just want to be happy again, find peace and balance in my life, and be the best mother and wife I can [because I haven't been great at either the last four months].

Oh, and edit: I didn't make new year's resolutions this year. I forget them after a week anyway.

  • What was the high point of the year for you?

Having DD. But really, the highest point would have been around 5 or 6 weeks when I came out of the post-partum fog and finally felt that feeling you're supposed to have when you have a baby. It hit me like a ton of bricks one day. Best feeling ever.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you?

I had a rough go of it post-partum, like I said. That was really rough. The CT shooting stirred up those bad feelings all over again. I'm starting to feel better though.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year?

I'm really hoping things work out with an interview I have this week. It will open up a lot of opportunities for me, on my terms. But mainly, I just want to soak up all the memories this year will bring and watch LO grow and learn. And maybe get KU again!

Things you hope will change this year?

My resolution is to clean up my potty mouth. So hopefully, my filthy vocabulary changes.

List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:

Never make them... it's a waste of time!

What was the high point of the year for you? Finally finding a job in Wichita Falls so I could stop driving 2 hours each day. Also finding out that we are ***shhhh it's a secret*** moving back to OKC soon! I'm stoked!

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Statistics class. Rough. Glad it's over.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? Move. Get into school in the fall. Start talking about a new baby, getting N potty trained.

Things you hope will change this year? State of residence ;) My kid's attitude, Going to really get on the ball this year working off some of this weight I've put on. I can definitely tell that it's taking a toll on my body.

I hope everyone has an amazing new year! Happy New Year ladies!

  • List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:

Keep walking, but walk more since I can't run. Do my indoor walking dvd when it's too cold and windy out. Explore hatha yoga more.

What was the high point of the year for you?

I think I'd say when we bought our house and got all moved in and such.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you?

By far, when a close aunt got cancer and then her husband (my uncle) died. It was cruel.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year?

I hope our family continues to pull together and heal spiritually and psychologically. I hope we get healthy, and if we already are, that we stay that way.

Things you hope will change this year?

I hope job situations shake out the way I want them to.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. Happy new year, gals!

  • I do not partake in such foolishness Wink

What was the high point of the year for you? Not necessarily one point in time, but the process of becoming a mom.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Having a DH who works long hours while dealing with a colicky newborn. (I'm thankful this was the crummiest part of 2012. We really had a smooth year other than the new baby and job adjustment.)

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? I hope to make a decision re: another hip surgery or TTC again and put hips on hold.

Things you hope will change this year? New job for DH.

  • List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:

I don't make resolutions. That way I don't feel crappy if I don't follow through.

What was the high point of the year for you? We had a really quiet year, but I think it would have to be that DH was promoted to branch manager.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? That my FIL had West Nile. Poor guy I felt so awful for him. Thankfully he was able to beat it and is back to being himself.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? Not many people know this, but we are hoping to add to our family starting this year. I would also like to get most of my home projects done this year.

Things you hope will change this year? See above.

What was the high point of the year for you?  Well, the trip to the FP was a lot of fun.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you?  I guess it is time to let the cat out of the bag...my husband and I decided to get divorced.  It is final today.  I have never been in so much pain. My heart is in a million pieces.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? I don't know. The unknown is really exciting but I am terrified.

  • List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:  I don't really do resolutions.

What was the high point of the year for you? I don't know if I can pick just one.  H and I went to a couple of concerts this year that were amazing experiences to share together.  DS *finally* potty training was a big deal, too.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Watching my father waste away and lose his life to cancer. The overwhelming anxiety I've been fighting since last spring is right up there too.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? I just want to move forward this year and to have good health and happiness for myself and those I love. I hope DD's social anxiety continues to improve and that I can get her involved in and enjoying more extra-curricular stuff.

Things you hope will change this year? I want to re-evaluate my priorities and focus on what is really important to me instead of wasting my time on drama and inconsequential crap.

  • I may have already told you this PS, but when I was going through a divorce, Okla gave me some of the best advice/reminders possible (she's good people, y'all) and I try to pass it on when I see someone struggling the same way.  I know that this feels like the end of the world right now and that it's all consuming, but I promise that a year from now you will look back on this and it won't feel like it was that awful. I promise. You will get through this. Hang in there.
  • (((hugs))) to you, pink sprinkles. I'm so sorry to hear of your pain and heartbreak. Prayers for peace and happiness in the months ahead. Take care of yourself.

  • What was the high point of the year for you?  Watching G grow, change and learn so much this year and keeping our marriage strong have been continuous high points.  FINALLY getting a new job was definitely a high point of the year!!What was the crummiest part of the year for you?  Our dog Maddux passing away in August.  I completely was not prepared to lose him and I really didn't think it would be this hard or suck so bad....I'm still not over it and I still cry probably more than I should.  I miss him every day.Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year?   I will continue with my weight loss/getting healthier and stick with MFP.  I've got a good thing going and I plan on sticking with it Smile.  We will also continue to pay off debt and get in a better place financially so that we're more prepared for TTC #2.Things you hope will change this year?  I realllllly hope we get our carpet pulled up and flooring installed---I've waited long enough for this change to take place and I'm getting slightly fed up.  In order to accomplish this, DH will have to be home more so I also hope the amount of time he spends working OOT changes.

List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness: Have a healthy baby in September, be good to myself in the process, and don't let work stress me out.

What was the high point of the year for you? Finding out I'm pregnant, some moments at work. Getting all of the doors in our house replaced, finally.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Moments at work. Evidently, I'm very hard to work with, according to one person. Everyone else thinks I'm fantastic, except her. There were also some moments with H I'd rather forget. And finally, the many, many home disruptions with the improvement process. Still more awful to get through before we can do the fun stuff.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? I hope that my mom and sister will be happy for me in this pregnancy. My sister is very anti-kid, and once told me pregnancy (mostly the giant belly part) freaks her out. I have no idea how my mom will feel.

Things you hope will change this year? Some H behaviors, our luck with this stupid money pit of a house, some things at work.

And a happy new year to you, too.

  • Sorry to hijack the thread, Pine.  Thanks ladies! I am feeling MUCH better today - I actually got some sleep so that helps. Going to Vegas this weekend with my besties and although I don't plan to party balls like I did when I was in my 20s, I am excited to spend some QT with my friends - no kids, no boyfriends, no husbands....perfection. Beer

I have to say that Wendy, Susan, Pine, and Snowful have been really, really awesome the past three/four months and I can't say enough about how strong they have made me feel. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. We love one another, we have respect for one another, we are (were) best friends, but being besties just isn't enough.  I have had breakdown after breakdown (yesterday was the worst day ever), I wouldn't have gotten through it without the aforementioned ladies.  So, thank you so very much.

And Fuzzy, if your sister and mother aren't jumping for joy happy about YOUR pregnancy, then they are douche bags.  Big Smile

  • Pink - So sorry girl! Hope this year brings lots of positivity. Hang in there, bday twin!

List your resolutions, if you partake in such foolishness:

What was the high point of the year for you? Grandma died earlier this year, and we had a memorial/family reunion in July in Michigan. I haven't seen this side of the family for nearly 20 years. It was wonderful, and I'm sure my Grandma was smiling down on us.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you? Having to rehome the sweet little dog we found. We got her all better, but between our schedules, living in an apartment, and allergies, it just didn't work out. It also turned me into an obsessive worrywart because I made her the center of my universe to an unhealthy point. I thought I would never get over the heartbreak of saying goodbye, but she's found her forever home and we get regular updates. Yay! I still think about her every single day and miss her, but I know this was for the best.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year? Just for everyone to be healthy and happy!

Things you hope will change this year? I will officially be in my mid-30s in a few days, and I realize that I've always been such a rule follower and uptight. I want to have more fun! I hope to learn to chillax a little more!

  • What was the high point of the year for you?

Definitely moving back to our home state for my new job. You gals are terrific, but there's no place like home.

What was the crummiest part of the year for you?

Our sweet pup is having some serious health problems. It's impacting me a lot. I've become a big ball of anxiety.

Things you hope will happen to you and yours this year?

I hope we can get the dog healthy (and not go totally broke in the process,) that I can get at least one more publication to shore up my tenure case, that I get good student evaluations, and that DH continues to love his job. I'd also like to start house shopping.

Things you hope will change this year?

I hope we learn to live a little more cheaply. DH took a big pay cut for a more prestigious job (I know...it's weird) and MUCH better schedule. We need to adjust the purse strings better.

That's all I can think of, off the top of my head. Happy new year, gals!
