How expensive are drinks on a cruise?
We're taking Allure of the Seas (RC) and I anticipate having a couple drinks by the pool during the day and a few at night... I'm worried of how expensive they will be....
TIA!
Re: Drinking on a cruise?
they really aren't any more expensive than drinks in a big city.
a beer is going to run you about $4 - $5. If you go over to cruise critic.com forums, this info is floating around there all the time.
if you are a partier, the drinks definitely add up over the course of a week. we bring on the max bottles of wine that the ship allows to defer some of the costs.
i find that the drinks on the cruises are less than i pay at a bar or restaurant at home. they always have a daily drink specials so check those out. they also have wine deals for dinner and soda cards.
The fruity drinks of the day run anywhere from $7-12 depending on the cool vessel they are in. I find buckets of beer work well cuz you save a few bucks, and a few drinks to the bar (or flagging someone down!)
We also do rum runners in our luggage, get the fountain card, carry a flask and make our own rum and cokes when we aren't drinking fruity drinks, beer or wine.
Have fun! The allure is awesome!
rccl now allows 2 -750 mL bottles wine to be brought on board. If you open it in a public space (bar/dinning room) they charge a $25 corkage fee.
The trial drink package rollout is on Oasis and Allure at the moment, I believe it was ~$55 a day. Cruise critic rccl board has more info
The bar prices are the same or lower than at home.
Cancer sucks.
