We are buying a house!!!
We weren't planning on looking so soon, but we found a house we loved and really wanted to look at. It turns out that house needed a lot more work than we were willing to do (pictures are very misleading), so we continued to look because we did not want to pass up these amazing interest rates. We put in an offer last Friday and they accepted within a few hours! It was fairly painless, we only went back and forth once. Granted, we still need an inspection and have 50 some days until closing, but I'm so excited! I'm moving back to the neighborhood where I grew up. We are going to live on a cul de sac and I can't wait to finally live in a neighborhood that has trick or treating. It also has a fenced in yard for our lab:)

My husband and I are also looking to buy a house soon. We live in a townhouse now, and want to get a single family home. We've been looking at new construction homes and are going to look at some already built homes tomorrow evening with the realtor who will be selling our house.

Congratulations! Buying a house together was one of the best and most exciting things. I don't regret it one bit, and we lost a lot of houses during the offer/bidding process because people are hopping on all of the good deals these days.

We won't be buying in the near future. I'm finishing my Ph.D., and we'll be moving to a new area at some point this year. We want to get familiar with our new city (wherever that may be) before we buy something, so we'll continue to rent for a little while.

We have just starting the early parts of buying a house, contacted a realtor and are looking into home loans. I hope our search goes as easily as yours !
