I wasn't sure where to post......
I have a step son who lives with us full time, i am his mother i am the only mother he knows. His biological mother walked out at 14 months and never looked back, my son will be six in feb and she has sent three emails in the last two years but never put an effort out to have contact. sending a few emails to me isnt an effort to see your child at all. my boyfriend and i plan on getting married just waiting till it is financially the best time to do so. I want to legally adopt my step son once we are married and i have been reading up on my states laws. it says that abandonment can be filed which could make it easier to adopt him if i file that way. what i am wondering is if a judge would consider a few emails an attempt to have a relationship with him. My son could not pick her out of a line up. He has no idea who she is and has no connection with her at all. im scared that they will give her rights even though she does not deserve them at all?? any advice appreciated!!!
