  I hate hearing about the fiscal cliff. I know I should be more concerned, but frankly, there has been such a big deal about it that I don't really care anymore.   The media just wants to scare people.  I heard one politician say " we are trying to save the 98% of people from drowning, why is no one saving the other 2%."  You wanna know why?! 
  Cause when the 98% of us are trying to stay afloat... the other 2% are in the damn yachts dumb@ss.

  I agree. The thing that bothers me is I live in a very republican area. I hear all of these people, who are in my socioeconomic class, aka not in the 2%, about how the gov't wants to tax them, and how they don't think they should be taxed anymore than they already are.   Well, as of right now, we all just had our taxes "raised" by 2%.  The social security tax cut that Obama made expired Jan 1 and didn't get renewed.

  Want to clarify that last statement. I like to think of myself as someone who listens to both sides. I know that some tax increase is necessary sometimes. It still doesn't mean I like it. What bothers me is people who talk about things without being educated about it. When I talk about something like that, I always follow or start with, from what I understand, or I cite my information. They basically talk about things that they hear on fox news all the time.

  lol.  I hate when people are so one sided that they can't listen to the other side at all.  I don't mind having to pay a higher tax IF it helped everyone.  But I agree...the more you make, the more you should contribute.  If I was a millionaire I would still think that, but maybe thats cause I wasn't raised with money or with entitlements.  I grew up on powdered milk... my guess is that the people who are complaining it the most have no idea what powdered milk is!

  Here's my thing.  Lets get rid of the government waste and entitlement programs.  Then if we still need to raise taxes, lets raise them.  Lets also close all the tax loopholes.
