Dublin/Ireland Hotel Advice? Trip Advice?
Hi everyone!! I am helping my family plan a trip to Dublin- the trip will consist of me (28) my husband (38) my sister and her fiance (23&28) my brother(25) my stepsister (21) so mostly a younger group.
Budget flexible-I want to try to find someplace that will be close to the bars and restaurants-(It's OK if there is some street noise/loudness we are all from the NYC area and use to that) and I am just starting to research now- does anyone have any advice for hotels?
Also if anyone has some advice for fun things to see or do- or even day trips around the area I would love to include them in my plans for everyone!!

Re: Dublin/Ireland Hotel Advice? Trip Advice?
Here's 3 for the above advise. The countryside is so beautiful!
We did a daytrip into the Wicklow mountains, and I wish we would've explored more outside Dublin. We did the Wild Wicklow tour, and when we got to the highest point in the mountains, they pulled over and we did a round of shots. You also get to stop in Glendalough, which is a little deserted town. Also go to the Blarney Castle and kiss the Blarney Stone, if you have time.
There's the Temple Bar area, which is where all of the bars and restaurants are. But I will say to stay a little bit north of that. You will feel a lot safer than staying near all the action. We stayed at Abby Hotel Dublin. Another couple stayed at the Arlington Hotel. They had a bar, restaurant, and Irish Dancing entertainment every night. That one was very nice, but more expensive. If we go again, we would stay there for a couple of nights, then hop around to Bed and Breakfast's throughout the countryside after.

The Shelbourne might be a good fit. It is approximately 30 minutes from the airport. There are numerous shops and boutiques in the surrounding area, as well as various pubs, bars and restaurants. It is near the famous Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Castle and several museums, and the east coast with its beaches is also not too far away.
I am a TA so if you need more information just let me know.
