  • Sounds cheesy but I want to enjoy and appreciate life more, I see myself as a pretty optimistic person but there is always room for improvement. Also, to lose weight but I started that one six months ago thankfully, I am ahead of the game!

  • Last year my resolution was to run a 5k and I ran two races! Since I am having a baby, I havent been able to run, but I'd like to start running again as soon as I can. I think my goal is going to be the Rothman 8k during marathon weekend. I'd also just like to learn a bit more patience. I am sure i'll need it with a baby!

  • I want to save more money and stop not doing things because it is inconvienient.  I feel like I'd enjoy life a little more if I "just did it." Also, I've been putting biting/picking nails on my list for 15 years, this is such a hard habit to break.  ugh.

  • I don't really have any, nor do I ever. I think this year is going to be so crazy that right now I'm only concerned about making it through with as much ease as we can. If anything I've learned not to have expectations ha.

  • No resolutions really, i'd say we're doing more of a bucket list for things we want to do this year as a family

  • I generally try to stay away from the word "resolutions" because I always set myself up for failure.  However, I do have a few "goals" I'd like to accomplish this year.

    -get a new job
    -get a house
    -get organized
    -lose weight/get healthier
    -worry less and enjoy life more (this one sounds silly but I find myself worrying over the silliest things)
    -make my marriage/parenting/household more of a partnership.  I tend to take on a lot and be a bit of a control freak so things are done "my way".  I need to let DH help more.

    This kind of goes along with my goal (I'm stealing this) to learn to say 'no'.  I/we try to take on too much or agree to too many plans and it's just too stressful trying to not only get everyday things done but also taking time for ourselves.  I need to learn that I can't/don't need to please everyone.  And more importantly, make sure to focus on enjoying my limited time with Jack.

    I'm also trying to spend less and get back into the habit of meal planning for the week.

    We just might be.  DH and I used to say yes to eve-ry-thing!  We were people pleasing to the nth degree.  It was awful.  We finally started putting our foot down if something wasn't convenient for us.  The holidays this year were a huge obstacle.  But you know what's great?  MIL landed in our (former) shoes this year with her bf, his family, her family, etc. and trying to juggle it all.  She actually apologized and told us she finally gets it.  It was kind of amazing (and really difficult not to say SEE? I TOLD YOU SO!) =)

  • I need to do a better job nurturing my friendships with my girlfriends. It's been tough to find a good balance ever since my daughter was born.

    I was working full time now going to school full time doesn't leave me much opportunity but I just need to make the effort. I had one group of friends that I didn't do a good job keeping up with - now they don't invite me to stuff anymore and they post all over Facebook about the great times they're having together. Feels shitty but it's of my own doing.

    This is us, too. And all the running around is so hard on the babies!  We had one really busy weekend in December and by Sunday DD was a mess - we were like NEVER AGAIN!  Hopefully it will get easier as she gets older and can self-soothe, but for now we need to take it easy. 

    I also need to let DH take more initiative as a parent...which I tried really hard to do this week while we were both home with here.

  • I have some goals for this year -

    to get back into running.  I would love to be able to run Broad Street again, so I am going to try and get in and use that as my ultimate goal.  But I realize that I haven't run in over a year so I want to ease into it and try to avoid re-aggravating my IT band. 

    I have about 10 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-PG weight, but I realize that may not happen until I wean.  So instead I am going to focus on eating better and exercising a few times a week.  DH and I are going to take measurements so that we can see progress that way if it doesn't show up on the scale.

    to try to really enjoy my time with DD and DH when we are all home together.  I know it will get easier to do stuff as a family when she is on a more predictable schedule, but for now try and spend QT whenever we can.

    to make my work days as productive as possible so that when I come home, I can devote all my time to my family.

    This is a great idea.  A couple of years ago, I had a lot going on in my life and I somehow packed on 40lbs.  I eventually lost all 40lbs, but the measurements and monthly before/after pictures were a better motivator than the scale.  Good luck!

  • I don't make resolutions, but this year I have goals.  One is to be better to my husband.  Not that I am mean to him, but I know I take him for granted at times.  This year, I want to appreciate him and what he does for me.  Second, I want to get back into shape.  Third, I want to learn to go with the flow.  Not everything needs to be planned.  The house doesn't have to be in great order every waking moment of the day/night.  I have to learn it will get done.  And, basically have a greater appreciation for those around me, and take time to smell the roses....so to speak!
  • I haven't had a resolution in a long time, but this year I decided I will make it a point to carve out an afternoon or evening once every two months (I'd like to make it more, but want to start out being realistic and see if I can add to the frequency later) to go out and do something without my kids- whether it's with DH or girlfriends or whatever.  I just feel very disconnected from the world- my friends especially- these days.  Between the everyday things the kids need and then the fact that DH travels so much on weekends leaving me home solo with kiddos, I feel like LD said- like I'm just not a part of my groups of friends really anymore.  I want to get that back, even if I'm not at every single event/night out, etc. 

    This Saturday, DH and I are going out to dinner to use a gift card we got as an anniversary gift in 2011.  A bit overdue for this night, huh?
