It's always interesting to see which toys actually get played with following the holidays!
The ones that are hits in our house have been:
-- Kindle Fire HD (they are now fighting over it instead of the iPad)
-- Latch board
-- Scooters (mostly b/c we've been letting them ride in the house)
-- This interactive train crossing thing (that they use while riding their scooters)
-- This tractor (for Wes)
-- This microphone (for Lanna, although we haven't figured out the camera part yet)
Of course it seems that the toys that are being used the least are the ones Lanna actually requested (I'm looking at you Baby Butterscotch). Go figure.
Re: Which toys are getting used?
Noah is definitely using his DS. We have to make him put it down. Brody has pretty much played with everything he received - he's very equal opportunity when it comes to his toys.
They both wanted those stupid Cuddle up its, and my inlaws bought them each one. Of course those they haven't looked at twice.
Totally understand the last thing... Dora Fantastic Gymnastics-- looking at you too. :P
We even hide that dang doll until the end and every present she would say, "Is this my Dora Gymnastics doll? I asked for a Dora Gymnastics doll."
Scooter was a big hit at our house too. And the Shrinky Dinks my SIL got her.Oh and the Jake and neverland pirates boat MIL got her.
Clothes.... not so much. She threw them across the room when opening with family she was so mad. Great......
Our baby butterscotch was very popular the first couple days. But that has since faded to a slightly interested zone. She has been most interested in her new leap pad games. Playing in the snow (does that count?) she cuddles a lot with her Stuffy doll from Doc McStuffins. Lego Friends got a lot of playtime until I put them into a bin and out of site/out of mind thing going on right now.
i am only further convinced the kid has too much stuff.
We got one of those for her birthday from favorite aunty... and it was taken to school for a week or two. And now I don't know where it is. But someday Mo will find it and make it his lover, and chew a big hole in him.
I need to google these cuddle up its. Never heard of.
Now stompies...... we got those for birthday 5 days after christmas. Yeah not sure where those are.
Hits:
Brinley:
Barbie House (we went with a kid kraft wooden one)
Dora Ponies--she plays with the horses non-stop, but ignores Dora and the barn
Breyer Horses (from nana) again plays with the ponies, ignores the barn.
Zingo Sight Words game
Nolan:
M&D Chunky puzzles
Haba Blocks
Radio Flyer Push Wagon (so stinkin cute--they push each other around in it. Nolan can even push Brinley!)
Little Blue Truck Book
Misses:
Brinley:
Dream light--she asked for this non-stop, liked it the first day then was bored with it
Elfun Snackin Safari game--too hard, even DH and I can't do it
Gak and Floam
Nolan:
Tobbles
Monster bowling game
Clearly our girls watch the same TV shows! I refused to purchase these, but the imitation Floam I got at the Dollar Store went in the garbage.
Jake has been using his Dream Lite every night...I will admit, I was pretty impressed by it. I thought it would only project a few stars directly above where you have it, I was surprised to see that it went all over the ceiling! He falls asleep with it on.
Other hits for him--Lightning McQueen Hawk, a new spiderman figure, his dress up spiderman costume (that Santa scored after Halloween for less than $2, woohoo!). He's been into doing his new puzzles (he had outgrown the ones we already had), and we did some experiments out of the science experiment set he received as a gift, he really liked that.
Liam is obsessed with the Master Moves Mickey that my MIL got him. Loves that thing, and laughs like crazy every time. He also likes this Little People race track that my uncle bought for him:
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
I almost forgot, both of mine get a kick out of this toy. It is battery operated and runs on a track and the little car switches between the three construction vehicles to transport these little marble thingies. I don't know that it'll hold their attention in the long term, but it's pretty neat for kids who like construction vehicles!
Hits: Play Kitchen, Melissa and Doug shopping cart (huge hit!), and Melissa and Doug cutting food.
Flops: Little People Princess castle, pillow racer (I think these are dangerous and do not recommend)
hahaha Adam bought DH a pillow pet last year for his birthday so he would stop using his! We got him a T-Rex.

LOL, that's awesome....those things are pretty comfy & soft!!
Jake - 1.15.08
Liam - 5.17.11
Adam has always used most of his toys...
The Nabi is a favorite for sure and keeps getting used. He is rotating through everything pretty much.
Legos- although they are sets and it KILLS DH who builds them that he tears them all apart and makes other things with them. lol.
The only think that isn't getting used as much as everything else is the Zibit tracks he asked Santa for since July. He did however already pick to take the Zibit (robot) that came with the set for show and tell tomorrow and has it in his bag ready to go.

Caileigh -- American Girl doll, plasma car, science set (Grandma), skippity game,
Keira - Bitty Baby, dog in purse, plasma car, little pony castle, Smatch game,
Eamon - dancing Mickey sings "Hot Dog song", playschool barn, Lego stand (so - so)
Misses--
Not too much for girls mainly b/c they haven't had a chance to get to everything yet. Probably the quilting/ blanket maker thing my MIL got
Eamon - elmo doll - no idea why b/c all he wants to do is read elmo books,
How time flies! Caileigh (9), Keira (6) & Eamon (3)
Emmy, Michael got the Mickey from MIL and that car track from my mom and loves them both.
MIL got Jackson the Rockstar Mickey a few years ago, and it was terrible. They really upgraded with this Mickey. Jackson likes it too and attempts to do Mickey's moves at the same time the mouse does to make his brother giggle. It's really cute to watch.
