Ha ha! I'm actually on time with this for once.
Not much is new from last week. I have a doctor appointment on Tuesday. It's weird but exciting to be on bi-weekly appointments now. Hoping it makes these last weeks go quickly. I've been working on several projects for Lily's room.
To start, a picture of me this morning. It's Sunday so yeah, lazy day clothes.
And here are pictures of the nursery and some of the projects.
The crib finally has a mattress and I was able to put sheets on it. This was the sheet that came with the blanket. It's going to be my back up sheet. But I wanted to get the whole affect. Also we moved one of the lazy boys in the room. I figured why buy a glider when we have a comfy chair already. Plus this freed up space in the living room for the baby swing.
Here is the dresser. Not sure if I ever posted a pic of it. It's got baby shower gifts and other random items on it. The horse is one of my old stuffed animals. The doll is one of my old ones as well. They'll be moving to a shelf later. My shower is in three weeks so then I get to open the gifts. These are from family who won't be able to make it.
And here is the material I bought all washed and waiting on my sewing machine to arrive. The pink frog and green will be a blanket.
The other pieces are scraps I got on clearance for burp clothes.
Last but not least, the wall art I was working on yesterday. The metal pieces still need to be glued on. And there are a few spots that need touched up. The top piece says Once Upon a Time. And the frog on the step has a crown on it's head.
I have yet to start painting the canvases that will have the letters for her name. My goal is to have all projects finished by the end of the month. Mainly so the nursery is complete in case Lily comes early in February and also because with everyone visiting for the shower, I'm sure they'll want to see the nursery. I will have to hide the canvases with her name though as we are keeping the name a secret still. ![]()
Re: 31 weeks (lots of PIP)
So wanna come and do my nursery? I LOVE what you are doing with yours and the wall decor is awesome! Did you do all that yourself or was it a kit that you found? We still have no idea what type of theme we are going with. Right now we just have light purple and light green paint. I'm hoping to make a dent on painting tomorrow but we shall see.
PS you look fantastic!
Thanks, I feel huge. And if flying wasn't involved, I would love to come help with your nursery. I think I'm done flying until after baby though. That last flight home a week ago was rough.
Our theme has definitely evolved from what I first imagined it to be. But I still like it. The fairy door I found at hobby lobby in their unpainted wood section. I had some acrylic paint on hand from a prior project. I found the charms at Hobby Lobby. They were on sale and the idea just kind of clicked while I was at the store. I had the fairy door in my cart and the light bulb came on when I saw the charms. They had a different fairy door as well. And I liked that I could paint it whatever colors I wanted. I also got the letters for her name there. They have all different sizes.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
PM'd you earlier today.
I know what you mean. This past week I suddenly realized what all we had left. We just bought the mattress. I told DH we have to get the carseat and at least a bag packed for the hospital now. That way we are at least prepared to bring her home!
Good
Some updated pictures. I got to work on it last night.
The yellow wings, ears and underbellies.
The yellow spines and dragon bodies.
You can see the remotes. I may have been right in front of the tv while working.
It already looks adorable!!! YAY.
Had my doctor's appointment yesterday. Doing well. Gained a few extra pounds (3 of them) from Christmas. Those extra are on top of regular baby weight gain. Not terrible but I'm already feeling huge so those extras made me skip frozen yogurt last night.
My uterus is measuring 1.5 inches bigger than what it should given my due date. My doctor isn't worried. She said if I get more than 2 inches bigger, they'll do another ultrasound to determine if I'm further along or if baby is just bigger. I like that my doctor doesn't push inductions or c-sections. She said some women just measure with a larger uterus and baby isn't big. I go back in two more weeks.
I agree. That is part of why I love my doctor. She said she currently has a patient who is 41 weeks and doesn't want to be induced, so they are just monitoring her to make sure both baby and mom stay healthy. It was reassuring. What if the dates are wrong and she's really only 38 or 39 weeks? It can happen.
