Seasoning a Wok

I needed a new wok and I put one on my registry.  I got it way back in the summer, but when I opened it up I saw I had to season it or it would rust.  Seasoning - coating it with oil for 10 minutes (twice before the first time, and once after that) before I cook and again when I'm done.  I'll have to do it less the more I cook with it.  I just wasn't ready for that kind of commitment.

Today I decided it was stir fry time.  Oh man, I should have youtuded seasoning a wok.  I guess olive oil is a no-no, due to it being smoky.  Yup it's January and we had to air out the downstairs.  I also should have gotten ginger and chives to flavor it, but it'll flavor with time... or so it says.

After over an hour of preparation, we had chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms with teriyaki sauce.  DELISH!  Even Jeff said "Babe, after 3 year of being with you, I'm still amazed at your cooking".  So I guess it was worth it!

How is everyone else's Sunday night going?
