Big A

When you detox is you grocery bill ridiculous?  I feel like 17 day diet makes my grocery bill double and the only thing I'm changing is more veggies and maybe a bit more chicken/turkey.  I know a lot of veggies are out of season.  Just trying to figure out a way to stay on it but not bust the bank.

Re: Big A

  • no because i'm not eating any meat. and the only meat I cook for Ben is stuff we have in the freezer.

and i'm not eating dairy so I don't have to buy cheese or anything.

fruit is expensive but not terrible if you buy like a bag of apples.

I honestly think its probably less expensive than a normal week of eating.

  • also I noticed dairy is a huge thing that can effect your diet and how you feel. cut out dairy entirely and you'll feel like a new person.
  • B00!  I'm trying to lower diary so we only got a gallon of milk.  I did get 2 lb of turkey and the big thing of chicken.  MIL got us a food saver so I'm trying to buy chicken up and then not have to for a while.  I guess I won't see a savings there until I have my stock pile lol.

  • Buying produce at a farmers market will also trim your bill.

I think I would die without milk.

  • Santorini - I go to a produce stand in the summer or dad's garden.  I don't think there's a farmer's market near North East that's open now, and any others would probably more gas getting there than I save.

  • You're in Lancaster, right? If you were in Delaware, I'd have the perfect place for you to go for produce (The Well Marketplace in Hockessin). It's where I buy all of mine, and it doesn't hurt that I work upstairs two days a week so I don't have to make an extra trip.
  • no I'm basically in Landenberg. and I know where the well market is, thats where Tom's used to be!

My sister is in Lancaster, I'm in North East, MD.  I just googled it, it's about 25 miles from me - 50 round trip.
