Menus?

I'm finally accepting the fact that I can no longer use the holidays as an excuse to not cook dinner Stick out tongue  What's everyone eating this week?

Sun: Pasta fagiola type soup  (found on pinterest)

Mon: Lasagna with salad

Tues: leftover soup

Wed: tacos

Thur: leftover lasagna w/salad

Fri: baked chicken, not sure about sides

Sat: Jake's bday party, ordering pizzas

Also, did you guys know that Olive Garden salad dressing is available at Sam's Club????  I was so excited.  That was my motivation for making salads as sides this week.

Re: Menus?

  • I didn't make a menu this week...I'm just winging it.  Maybe next week - I was in denial that all the fun is over.   Last night I made chicken with a mixture of mayo, parm cheese, lemon juice and Mrs Dash spread on top.  Then it topped it with panko breadcrumbs.  It was pretty good...very moist.  Tonight if I don't take Noah to ice skating lessons, we'll have pork chops and the rest of the week is a mystery!

We've been buying that OG dressing at Sam's.  It's pretty good - it's still slightly different (I think) than what you get on their salad, but I do like it.

  • Sunday: Ribs; roasted potatoes; veggies with cheese sauce

Monday: Roasted chicken; italian 5 grains; green beans

Tuesday: Chicken and veggie fried 5 grains

Wednesday: Mustard glazed pork chops; roasted winter squash; risotto

Thursday: Venison chops; wild rice; roasted cauliflower

Friday; Chicken alfredo with broccoli; bread sticks

Saturday: Pot roast with carrots; mashed potatoes

I agree--I think it's creamier than the kind in the restaurant.  But, I enjoy it more than most other bottled italian dressings, so that made me happy.

If by "gearing up" you mean having an anxiety attack, then yes :)  I see those preschool kids all together at school, running around outside, then picture them ALL IN MY HOUSE and I get scared and wonder WTH I was thinking!  But, I am excited for him, I think he's going to have a blast, and I just need to let go of my ocd-tendencies for a few hours while they're there.

I was looking for a new stew recipe to try--and DD loves egg noodles so serving it over noodles is a bonus!  I'm thinking we'll try it with venison instead of beef.  Thanks!

I use it on pasta to make the worlds easiest (and probably most unhealthy) pasta salad.
