Bedroom ?'s

So I know I have talked several times about H and I looking to buy new bedding for our room. And I still haven't bought any by the time I find what I like he doesn't like it and then when we agree they get rid of it before I can buy it. We are waiting on us finding bedding before we buy the bed since it's a super popular design and they have assured us it will be around for quite a while.

Now I'm having trouble picking colors. H says he would maybe like a quilt set instead of a comforter I don't care at this point. It's just colors we can't decide on. We have already ruled out having anything that is mostly white or black. H says no purple or orange or yellow. And I say no brown because that's the color of the furniture plus the walls are a beige-ish color. However I don't want to feel like I am repeating colors through-out the house. Here's my problems:

1. The living room is grey and green with some black.

2. The bathroom (only one in the house) is red, white, and black.

3. The carpet is a blue color in all the bedrooms.

So the colors we have agreed for this are: grey, blue, green, red, but of course those are used else where in the house. we would be okay having other colors in them but not as the main color of the set. What would you go with? I just can't decide.

Re: Bedroom ?'s

  • I personally would go with either a blue or grey one because I think it'll look best with a blue carpet.

But our comforter is blue (and we also have a grey one) so I might be a bit biased! :)

  • We also have the grey/blue combo.  And a brown/blue combo.  I like blue :)

Sorry to not be of much help, but this was totally not the question I expected with that subject ;)

Haha the bolded part is so what I expected!

  • What about something like these

They have blue in them, but aren't too much blue where they blend in with the carpet.  I personally am a fan of the blue or grey too.

Aw...man mancila.  Here I thought this was a totally different post!  Gutter minds!

I think any of the colors you are thinking about would look just fine.  I also wouldn't worry about the repitition in colors.  We did the same thing, honestly because I was tired of looking at paint samples and having a trillion paint cans in my basement!  I'm a little more swayed in the green direction though.  But if you have blue carpet like was stated, perhaps staying in the blue family would look nicer.

GL - you're going to have to post pictures when you do get this project done!

  • I'm a little confused...you are trying to pick out bedding, and white, black, purple, orange, yellow, brown, grey, blue, green, and red are out?

    That leaves...no colors.

I'm okay with green, blue, grey and red just those are already main colors of other rooms in the house and I was concerned about using them again. I am okay with black and white BUT I don't want those to be the main colors.

  • I don't think it's a big deal to use the same color as the "main" color in multiple rooms.  Our main color in our bedroom is blue, and the same thing in our living room.  I like the blue/grey idea, like the others.

Our bedroom is also painted a light beige with beige carpet.  Our colors are blue, black, and a vintage metallic not-quite-gold and not-quite silver.
