Robinson area pre-school

Anyone have any good recommendations for pre-schools in or near the Robinson area?  If a pre-school is held at a church, does that mean that there's religious education going on as well, or is it just a location?

Thanks. While I'm not usually boggled at education-type stuff, this is unknown territory.

Re: Robinson area pre-school

  • My daughter goes to preschool in Moon.  Is that too far for you?

I think the religion thing varies.  Her preschool is located in the lower level of a presbyterian church but they are not part of the church and do not do any religious stuff.  We looked at another preschool located in a chruch and they did do some religious education.

  • I don't know about any Pre-Schools in Robinson, but I do know that church pre-schools vary by church.  Some church pre-schools are ministries of the church, and therefore would likely include religious education as appropriate for the age.  (Bible stories, holidays, etc.).  This is the way our pre-school is run.

But I know of other cases where the school basically just rents space from the church.  My home church and my field-placement church was set up like this.  As separate entities, there may or may not be a religious component.  The best way to know for sure would be to set up an appt. with the director and request to see some curriculum plans.  Then you can decide if it works for you and your family.

We are registering now for next year, which seems crazy early to me, but it looks to be pretty standard.  Good luck finding a place you are comfortable with!

Edit:  We do NOT require our pre-school families to be members of the church, attend church, or support the church financially.  We certainly encourage those with no church affiliation to do so and we advertise our Vacation Bible School, but we don't push it.  Many of our pre-school families belong to other churches of different denominations, and some likely don't belong/attend anywhere.

  • One of my friends has her kids in the Tender Care on/near route 60 for preschool. She's very happy with it.
  • We have a preschool curriculum as part of our daycare--but I think the library used to have one--but I can't find any info for it.  I did find this:

And the West A highschool also does a preschool.

  • Our daycare (Helping Hands) is closer to Imperial, but has a preschool program. Not sure if there are openings, but we're very pleased with the center!
