Just curious.
When you see abbreviations, or acronyms, do you read them in your head as the abbreviation/acronym or as the full word?
For example, how do you read this in your head?
"In Dec., my H and I went to go visit my friend who just had her baby. I guess the baby was 8lbs, and 20 in long. We walked to the L&D desk, and asked which room she was in. The RN had to ask the DR, because it seemed she was MIA! "
After 2 years of TTC, lots of tests, and a Hysteroscopy/Laparoscopy to remove several polyps,
Clomid/IUI #1 3/14: cancelled due to surprise BFP 3/8/14.
Beta 1 3/11: 398 Beta 2 3/13: 728 Beta 3 3/20: 11,482

Re: Random Question...
A combination I guess. I will redo it and put in the way I read it with the words/ abbreviations I used. (If any of that made sense)
Here's how I read it:
In December my H and I went to go visit my friend who just had her baby. I guess the baby was 8 pounds and 20 inches long. We walked to the labor and delivery desk and asked which room she was in. The RN had to ask the doctor, because it seemed she was MIA.
I highlighted the parts are what I assumed you were asking about but that is hoe I read them.
This was how I read it as well, except for L&D because I didn't know it meant labor & delivery!
I read it exactly like this.
I read it as:
"In Dec., my husband and I went to go visit my friend who just had her baby. I guess the baby was 8 pounds, and 20 inches long. We walked to the L&D desk, and asked which room she was in. The RN had to ask the doctor, because it seemed she was MIA! "
haha some words I'll read out and some I'll read as the acronym. lol <-- I pronounce that lawl haha

I do the same thing.. switching it up. I wonder the same thing about certain screen names.
I find it interesting that a lot of us will use abbrev/acronyms for the same words, or say the whole thing for the same words

This...although I guess with the acronyms that I don't have a clue about!
This except I would have read Labour and Delivery as L&D since we don't ever call it that here, its always just the mat(erinity). or delivery ward.
