Re: Thrifty Thursday
Is there anything you are saving up to buy? a house!
Where do you look online for deals? Amazon, especially for used books
Do you collect or use coupons at the grocery store? Only if it's something I'm buying anyways. Although our local grocery store has started having great coupons attached to their flyers!
Feel free to add anything you want about saving money!! Speaking of coupons, H & I watched a few episodes of Extreme Couponing and had to stop because H wanted to try it! I refuse to spend 60hrs a week on clipping coupons for what I consider to be crap! Besides, who needs 60 bottles of mustard!
Is there anything you are saving up to buy?
A house!
Where do you look online for deals?
My e-mail. I sign up to get e-mail notifications for my favorite places and it'll usually tell me when there is a sale or good deal going on.
Do you collect or use coupons at the grocery store?
Yes, but I'm definitely not an extreme couponer. I'll get the newspaper with coupons when I remember and look through them quickly before going to the grocery store. I don't ever save more than $10, but every little bit counts!
Is there anything you are saving up to buy? H a new lawn mower since we are tired of putting money into the one we have and something goes wrong every time he uses it
Where do you look online for deals? Amazon sometimes groupon
Do you collect or use coupons at the grocery store? Yes mostly they are coupons from the store itself. They keep track of stuff we buy and send us coupons for those items. Also H dips and he uses coupons on that so that he doesn't spend a fortune on that.
Feel free to add anything you want about saving money!! We have also started saving money for baby stuff so when we do get pregnant we have money saved. The money we put into savings each money we take like 5% of that and put into another savings account.

H would like us to start saving more to have for projects in the house so we can move to our dream home sooner...I bought a fixer upper while we were dating and we been slowly fixing it up and hoping in about 5 years to move out to our "forever" home ...I would like to save for Ireland and then get serious about the house/kids saving... I usually get my way
Where do you look online for deals? i do groupon or stuff like that, emails
Do you collect or use coupons at the grocery store? No, but I should!
Feel free to add anything you want about saving money!! I have so much school and cc debt right now that I need to get out of before really able to save...so that's my goal now
Is there anything you are saving up to buy?
We have allocated accounts within our main savings for our Anniversary trip this spring, a new car, a house, car insurance payments and moving expenses. We're moving back to our home city this summer and we have to save for moving and setting up a place (deposits, furniture, etc. Even though we're not buying yet...sigh)
Where do you look online for deals? Coupons.com, Amazon, Woot.com, Ebay
Do you collect or use coupons at the grocery store? Sometimes...I hate extreme couponing because I hate clutter, but when I can save some on something I already had to buy, then I will use them.
Feel free to add anything you want about saving money!!
I have found that planning meals weeks in advance and then doing a large shopping trip for frozen foods (like meat) at places with better prices (Trader Joe's) saves us a LOT of money. I also do this with Costco. I'm big into meal planning though so it works well for us.
We do this too! But we don't have a Trader Joe's or Costco we have a Sam's. This is where we buy all laundry deterget, dishwashing detergent, toilet paper, meat, coffee, etc. Things we go through quickly or use a lot of. We only go like 1 or 2 times a year and we actually save about $300 a year by doing this since the meat and other items go alot further than what you buy in the store and certain items are only $5 more at Sam's than the grocery store but it's about triple the size.
