I haven't gotten the flu shot. I know, I'm an idiot and I'm going to go get it today since my boss, who never gets sick and actually had the flu shot this season, is home sick today with the flu. I've never gotten the flu shot and I've only had the flu once, while in college and living in a dorm. The real confession though is that I'm pregnant so this makes me an even bigger d-bag.
UPDATE: I got the second to last flu shot from my local CVS so I'm slightly less of a d-bag now.

And I hear you about the flu shot. I've never had it, and don't really see the point. With that being said, I'll probably get the flu this year and will have no one to blame but myself.

I'm jealous because my H is unemployed, but on severance. He hates it because he's bored and looking for a job sucks big donkey balls.
However, I really wish I had some time off. Between work and my internship, I'm pulling 60 hour weeks and it sucks.
Also, until H finds a new job, no house. No house = no doggie. No doggie = no children.
I am desperate, absolutely desperate to start looking for a house. We have outgrown every apartment we have lived in so far (3) and have way too much stuff.
I also am getting sick...with the fever of babies. It's mild and I'm taking medicine to stay it off, medicine that is my one year old's tantrums.
I feel your pain! DH still hasn't found a new job and he's feeling 1000 times better now and I'm starting to feel like crap as this little life in me hijacks my body. I leave in the morning and DH is still sleeping and I think to myself, he can go do my job and I'll stay home and rest! Grrrrr. I'll be so happy once he's working again!

That's correct. His radiation treatment has the potential side effect of fertility issues. We were also advised to not to even TTC for at least four months following the treatment.

I'm sure I sound super judgmental but I don't understand people that don't care what they eat.
My CW and I were talking about something food related and then she commented I always bring something for lunch in, whether it's leftovers or something else I made like soup or a salad. Then she rolls open her snack drawer (filled with tons of processed snacks), points to it and says 'yeah, I don't really care what I eat.' She literally snacks on junk all day.
There are so many amazing foods out there and it just boggles my mind that she eats the same stuff day in and day out.

Every time I've gotten the flu shot I've gotten the flu (3 times), I've had bronchitis and pneumonia already this winter and I know the doctor is side eyeing me, but I THINK I'm making the best decision.

I just scheduled the 20week sonogram and appt and the dads are coming and I'm not excited, they are on my nerves.

My confession is that I was also in CVS today getting a flu shot. DH and E already have had theirs for months. The flu going around scares me so I figured it couldn't hurt. I usually get sick when I get the flu shot too...but I don't feel like chancing it. I am not pregnant though so less of a sideeye. And my arm freaking kills. I am such a baby.
I'm getting over pneumonia but pregnancy wise I feel fine.
They are my nerves because I'm being witchy, they fussed at me because I didn't tell them I had pneumonia, I didn't tell my own family. I know and understand where they are coming from, but I feel the communication they want is a little too much. A phone call once a week and every other day emails. THERE IS NOTHING GOING ON RIGHT NOW. I have nothing to report.
I'm assuming they're first time parents. You're carrying their most precious cargo and they have like no control over the situation. Pneumonia or the flu in pregnancy can be serious and I'd probably be super pissed if I were in their shoes. I don't think it's unreasonable for them to want to know that. I'm sure they care about your well being too.
Out of curiosity do you have a legal agreement stating what your responsibilities are in terms of communication with them?

I confess that it bothers me when people complain about their finances, yet they are constantly buying their lunch and snacks-it really adds up...
I changed midwives this past week. Solely based on distance to my house. I don't mind the drive for no. 1. But can't handle it with no. 2 it required so much extra work. I felt guilty since the midwives are so nice. So I broke up with them re: email.
Along similar lines, I cannot stand that so many people make comments about my healthy meals I make at/bring to work. I have had more comments over oatmeal or a salad with statements like, "oooh, look at you, so healthy..." or "what is that!?" It's fargling oatmeal/salad!
I know I am totally being snarky/irritable and people could be saying nasty things to me, but it still comes across as judgy.
I don't know why or how people don't try other foods, just to expand their palate. I can understand if you don't care for tomatoes--you aren't going to try tomato sauce, but why do you hate carrots if you've never tried one?
I am still down for drinks!
