Where can I get the flumist nasal spray?

It's a long story about why I do not an injection flu shot but I am having trouble finding a place that offers the flumist.  Do they not offer this to adults?

  • Good morning America just had a segment on flu this morning and said to use flu.gov to find flu clinics in your area (you can choose which type of vaccine you are looking for). I would look asap as apparently the flu is running rampant and vaccines may start being in shortage.

Thank you!  Apparently Kmart has the nasal one.  Hmmmm, never thought of getting a flu vaccine at kmart.

  • I think most places are out of the spray for adults. My friend is completely petrified of needles and was looking frantically (I think she utilized the site above, but places that were listed on there were out). She ended up settling on going to CVS where they use the intradermal needle (supposed to be smaller): http://www.cvs.com/promo/promoLandingTemplate.jsp?promoLandingId=intradermal-vaccine

I was going to suggest this as a possible alternative as well. The cvs bear me has advertised the intradermal as well.

Yes, kmart doesn't actually have it. They said they never had it, so this might be the way to go.

  • Not sure if it is the same for adults or not (I would think it is) but I remember the first year my son got the nasal spray he had to have a series of 2 - It was several years ago, but I remember having to take him back after a few weeks to recieve the second dose and after the initial doses he only needs the 1 yearly.
