What are you reading?

It's been a while.  I need suggestions!

I've been reading Nora Roberts books like crazy lately because they are easy and quick and a good distraction at lunch.  Please don't judge me.  They are my guilty pleasure.

I occaisonally lurk on the Book Club board and some of those girls are on their 6th book of the year already!  6th!  It's only the 11th of the month! Madness!

Re: What are you reading?

  • I hate to admit that I haven't read anything since I stopped pumping in early December.  Hoping to get back in the groove soon as I have to finish the 6th Outlander book.

  • I have finished reading NOTHING so far in January. I have about six books that are due back to the library this weekend that I won't get to and it makes me so sad. Currently my routine is: wake up, go to work, come right home, nap, eat dinner, nap, go to bed, and repeat. I'm so thankful I haven't had any real morning sickness but I've never been so tired in my entire life.

  • Oh and I totally lied about only reading NR books!  I read Bright Lights, Big Asss by Jennifer Lancaster and it was my favorite of her books so far!  SO funny.  DH asked me several times wth I was reading because I was laughing out loud.

I just downloaded Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris.  I keep hearing how hilarious he is so I've finally remembered to download one of his books!

  • I was hoping I would be able to get back into reading during the holidays, but ... with a 1 year old that isn't really happening.  I started reading Gone, Girl around Christmas, hopefully this week I can pick it back up.  So far so good, but I'm still only maybe a quarter of the way through it.  After that I am hoping to read In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson which has been sitting in my night stand since the summer.
  • I haven't read a fun book in ages.  I go through spells like this.

Right now, I'm reading "educational" books such as Baby Bargains and the Mayo Clinic Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy.  I've been taking the Mayo book slow and just reading the parts that pertain to me at a particular point in time.

Once I am BFing and return to work at our new office in Huntingdon Valley, I will probably have lots of time over lunch to read, since there will be no where else to go.

Speaking of baby books- any good first year guides you can suggest?  I know absolutely nothing about taking care of this kid.

I love David Sedaris. He's very Augusten Burrough-ish!

I'm reading "The Fault in Our Stars" and despite what its about, I love it. I started it this week and I'm almost done. I needed something funny for next Friday (when we spend an entire day at CHOP) so I downloaded "This little Piggy went to the Liquor Store" - it got good reviews so we'll see!

  • I need some funny book suggestions. For the past 6-7 months in a row, my book club has been picking depressing reads so I havent been reading them. I need something uplifting!

I'm glad you decided to read TFIOS, Kernal!

I'm currently reading "Solving Your Child's Sleep Problems" by Ferber.  It's captivating, let me tell you!

Will be downloading "Gone Girl" pretty soon.

Can I assume you've read all of Chelsea Handler's and Jen Lancaster's books?  Those are my go-to funnies.
