update

Hi girls,

I just wanted to check in and let you know how I was doing since my miscarriage.  Thanks for all of your supportive posts.  After about seven days, I started having really bad pain and was still bleeding. I had a follow up MD appt a few days later (got a speeding ticket on the way to the follow up appt, ugh) and a D and C the Fri before Christmas.  I had a little pain afterwards but nothing compared to what I had that week prior to the D and C.  I am glad I had the D and C before the holiday.

DH and I were able to somewhat enjoy Christmas and the holidays. We had my extended family over on Christmas day which was fun.  DH had to do a lot to get ready for it, but I didn't want to cancel.  We had volunteered in Sept.  I had never had it at my own place (had it when I lived with my parents when they would host it) so I was glad to host.  It was rough getting ready for it especially with everything we had going on but it went well.  We had 35 people (my family, aunts, uncles, and cousins that live in the area.)

Grief is hard and I had several hard days and hard moments.  The first week was hard and then I was better and then the D and C brought it all back (although I could have been that way anyway timing wise, grief is up and down.)    DH has been wonderful and supportive and I know he was grieving as well.

I had my FU appt last week. My OB recommended blood work in a few weeks.  (She wanted to make sure all the pregnancy stuff was out of my system so she recommended waiting a few weeks.) I have the lab orders and it is quite many items they are going to look at. I am glad for that and am glad we can move to this after two. (Some people have to  wait until they have three.)

Again, thanks for all your support.  (Again, I might delete this post in a few days or weeks, but I wanted to update all of you.)

Re: update

  • You have been in my thoughts!  I am sure the holidays were tough, but I am glad to hear that you were able to enjoy them.

Great news that your doc has scheduled lab work for you.  My T&Ps that you get some answers!
