Okay so I'm in Broncos country and even though I really don't care about football my H does and he's from here so it's all this cool thing. My friend and her H have season tickets to the Broncos (I usually cheer for my home team but don't really care either way). All three of them (H and friends) are big Broncos fans.
So two weeks plus ago when they posted that they had playoff tickets I snapped them up- and it was 50 degrees outside and it was going to be a couples thing so it was cool... I'd get to hang with the wife and chill and the guys would be all so and so on a down blah blah officials, right?
Day of? Wife got sick this week and wouldn't be able to come (she had a cold/cough and had just gotten over food poisoning from 4 days ago) and it was less than 10 degrees out. I tried to get H to take his brother but he really wanted me to go.
Seriously in the highest spot of the stadium in temps ranging from 1-10 degrees with a cold breeze all the time for HOURS watching football and drunk people (which actually was pretty awesomely entertaining). We did end up going to dinner after with all four of us but I needed to whine to someone that #1 I missed hanging out with my friend and having my girl escape to go down to the bathroom five times to warm up (I did sneak away once to do that b/c my feet were hurting) and #2 I'm glad H had so much fun but OMG it was freaking cold!!!!!!! Now he can never complain it's too cold when I want to go snow shoeing.
But I did get him the tickets to say thanks for being so awesome when I had my surgery and he really had a great time even if the outcome wasn't what he wanted. So now he knows I realllllly do love him enough to freeze... I'm glad I had my gear but not much can make that kinda temperature enjoyable.
Figured you girls would understand my disappointment but still having a good time if anyone can :-)
Re: I love my H aka why I froze for him
I was thinking the entire time while watching that game how nice it was to be snuggled up with our electric blanket on our couch at home =]
Way to be a good sport, though (no pun intended!
. I'm sure your H thought it was awesome. My H went to a game like that once in Chicago...he said never again, and he's a HUGE football fan!
We were at the patriots game tonight, so I know how you feel! It is actually a lot warmer here than it normally is in the middle of January, but up in the stands, with that wind blowing.. Brrrrr!
I bet your H really appreciated your company!
