No more Chemo Party

Hello Ladies

My mom found out she had cancer in Aug 2012, she had surgery, a few set backs and started Chemo before our wedding. Her last chemo appt is coming up in a week and a half (YAY!!!) and I want to try to do a no more chemo party/get together for her. Has anyone ever done anything like this? What did you do? I'm also wondering if I should call it a no more chemo party or a no more cancer party (She has been cancer free for several months now but has been taking part in a study since day one)

Any ideas would be great, I have looked online but haven't seen too much I am interested in,

TIA ,

Ashley

Re: No more Chemo Party

  • Don't really have any ideas for you, but that's awesome that your mom is almost done with Chemo and that she's now cancer free!

    same! That is fantastic!

Just make it like a regular party. You could do a theme of something she likes, someplace she has been/ wants to go. Have fun and she'll have fun.

  • Also no suggestions, but that is great!!

    Aaaaaaaand ditto!  That's great news!

I did google really quickly and other people do have some good ideas out there!

  • That's a really good idea. I probably wouldn't call it that since it mentions "chemo" in the name and it's kind of a negative thing even though it's "no more." Maybe just a "Wellness Party" or something :) And have healthy snacks and things at the party with a theme of Health and Happiness. Sorry if that sounds like a fortune cookie :) Must be my Asian side kicking in.
  • Thanks for the ideas ladies :)

we have decided we Re going to have the party on MLK day(almost everyone is off)  and the theme of the surprise party is going to be a fiesta! We figure fiestas are FDA dn the food will be pretty easy :)
