Labor/delivery babysitter
Has anyone hired one of these?
In case I go quickly we need a plan. My parents will come down to take care of m but We are trying to be realistic for that 1-2 hrs it will take them to get here we may need an extra set of hands.
We really don't have friends/family who can drop everything due to the nature of thier jobs nearby.
Other thought is we hire a doula to be my support person and P be m's support person in case it moves quickly and m has to come with us to hospital.
Re: Labor/delivery babysitter
...and I can be a back-up.
If you decide not to go with friends your first suggestion is a good one. One of my good friends was in labor with her 2nd and the father's mom was still on a flight coming in from out of town when her water broke.
She called me and I drove her to the hospital and hung out with her there while the dad picked up his mother at the airport and got her situated at home with their first kid.
He came to the hospital in plenty of time and I left.
It all worked out fine and me and DH are now the godparents!
