We were going to stay off-property at the ILs timeshare, but they talked to a travel agent and were talked into staying on property. It is not yet 100% booked but I am a bit relieved to hear this news. With EJ's allergy I wanted the comfort of the dining plan and being on property will just be so much mroe convenient. SO I went from stressed and avoidance to pretty excited. They are talking Port Orleans, Mandy, didn't you say that is where you are staying?
Re: slight disney change
I'm glad that it will lessen your stress level, that's great news! I would think day to day would be easier being on property, too, as far as being able to go back to your resort mid-day if needed, to let EJ take a rest.
ahhh....I can't believe I have to wait until October, I want the trip to be here NOW.

Rona, i think they were looking at riverside! I was getting everything second hand from K after he spoke with them. I think they are going back to see their travel agent again Friday to work out the details so hopefully I will know more by the weekend (So I can get into my obsessing/planning mode)
We really liked Riverside. Very nice pool and dining area too. Also has the boat service to Downtown Disney. We stayed in one of the princess rooms aka Enchanted Guest room. I really liked this site for info and a nice detailed map:

I have to say, I am really excited to stay on property! We camped when we went as kids, and I've stayed on property for work but it's not the same. We aren't doing the dining plan though.
Let me know what you decide! We're staying in the French Quarter, but I'd imagine they're close. Maybe we can meet up for an adult beverage some evening if we're not too beat!
Sounds like a plan Mandy! The two Port Orleans resorts are right by each other. I will let you know once the details are decided upon!
I wanna go to!!!!!!!
Dh and I stayed at the French Quarter pre-kids and we really liked it. I liked that it was small and easy to walk. At the end of a long day, and my feet felt like they were broken it was nice that the room wasn't too far from the bus stop.
When we went two years ago we did PO Riverside and it was a gorgeous property. The magnolia trees, and the southern plantation feel were wonderful.
With the dining plan, you'll be fine. Disney goes out of its way for people with allergies. They are wonderful about that stuff.
Taking a quick second out of our busy season to chime in - Port Orleans French Quarter is probably my favorite Disney property and we've stayed at all of the values, almost all of the moderates and about half of the deluxes.
If they're choosing between the villas, you'll be staying in luxury. When we went with Steve's family and his mom treated, we had a 2BR at beach club, and it was wonderful! Probably the nicest place I've stayed at, anywhere.
