Buying a Boat

So looks like H and I are buying a boat. H's best man joined the military about 3 years ago and he gave his boat to his dad who in turn basically gave it to H. A year ago his dad came to get the new registration for it and we haven't gotten the new tags so it's been unusable ever since. H and I have talked about just buying it here recently so H text best mans dad about it and he said he was planning to ask us if we wanted it because he was wanting to sell it.

He is willing to sell it to us much cheaper than he would ask anyone else it's about $1,500- $2,000 difference and only $200 more than we were wanting to buy it for plus he threw in extra stuff that he has for the boat.

H and Iove to fish and we have always wanted our own boat and while this isn't exactly the one we want it's a great place to start! We are so excited!!!

haha I agree! Good thing is this pretty much a hunting boat so it has basically only a motor and H knows how to work on just about everything on it.

  • That sounds fun!  Maybe someday...
  • Exciting! I'd love to own a boat someday.

I was going to ask what kind of boat it is...because my relatives all live on the lake have had various boats over the years, and most of them are really money pits. Its it working perfectly now?

  • It runs great we have no problems out of that but we do with the extra stuff on the boat like the depth finder and all that stuff but it is stuff that has been on the boat for a while and has nothing to do with mechianical issues or anything. Ever since H and I have had the boat (about 2 years now) we have gotten it serviced every year just like you would for your car with an oil change and all that good stuff.

The brand is War Eagle and really it's just a smaller boat made for like duck hunting.
