Doctor's Office Rave

Remember last year when I switched doctors? It was a big brewhaha on here. Anyway, I couldn't be happier and I want to let them know that I appreciate them. Just as an example, Brooks' insurance changed effective yesterday, of course he had a doctor's follow up with the ENT from his tube surgery in November. I didn't know that he needed a referral for a specialist. I call the PCP and their name wasn't on his card yet (I had just gotten it in the mail on Friday). I was given instructions on how to do everything. I didn't have a chance to call until 4 hours later to straighten it out with the insurance company, the lady at the dr's office had called given the approval to accept Brooks (normally they don't take his insurance, but since he's exisiting they will) and had sent an emergency referral to the ENT. She really went above and beyond by today's standards. This is just ONE example of how awesome they are.

What do you think, send muffins or cookies? Edible Arrangements doesn't deliver to them.

In other news, the old doctor's office sent us a bill right before Xmas, they had billed our insurance twice for 4 different visits. I called and left 4 messages and no one has called me back YET. Fortunately we have a health advocate through DH's work that will handle this, but jeez.

Re: Doctor's Office Rave

  • I think anything other than food is a good idea--most dr's offices have lunch/food/snacks brought in daily by pharmaceutical reps.  Even just a simple thank you note to let them know you appreciate their work goes a long way.
  • A thank you note like erbur mentioned will go a long way.

Or, it sounds like you want to thank the one lady in particular.  If that is the case, maybe take her a little something the next time you go in with a thank you.  I always think the Philosophy sets are a good idea, in this case the one that says "Thank you" on the case.

Honestly, a note of appreciation is kind enough in this case and people appreciate it!

  • I agree, sending a thank you note would be nice, especially to the head of the practice/office manager so that the employee is recognized.
