Coupon Websites

Any good websites you can suggest where you can get coupons?  I was watching an Extreme Couponing marathon last night, and I would love to know where these people find these coupons. My parents get the Sunday paper and I usually look at theirs, but the coupons that come with it seem worthless to me.  I could never spend 35 hours a week looking at coupons and make food shopping a career, but it can't hurt to try to save a little bit of money.

BTW, is it just me, or do no supermarkets in this area double coupons?  I remember Acme did when I was a kid, and I've seen some stores advertise they do for a certain period of time.

They still do, but they max out doubling coupons that are worth $.99 or less. You may notice that coupons now are for higher amounts ($1. - $2.50), but you must buy multiples of the same item; i.e., I always see $1.50 coupons for Ziploc in the Sunday paper, but you must buy 2 boxes of them to get the discount.

Most of the coupons in the Sunday paper are for products we do not buy, but I have found that Mambo Sprouts http://www.mambosprouts.com/ offers coupons for organic brands that you would not necessarily see in the paper.

Mother Nature Network did an article in the spring with sites that offer coupons for organic brands: http://www.mnn.com/money/personal-finance/blogs/online-grocery-coupons-for-april-2012

  • The only place I clip coupons for is BJs because they carry brands of toiletries that we use...razor blades, body wash, deodorant, face wash.

I find that when I do make the effort to clip coupons, I end up buying the store brand anyway because it still ends up being cheaper. And I never see coupons for perishables, which is the majority of what I buy on a regular basis.  Most of our pantry items are BJs store brand.

I do a lot of my shopping at Wegmans, and I really like their store brand.  Plus, they have a great labeling system for food allergies and gluten-free...which is necessary in my family.

  • Coupons.com is the only one I use regularly. I get an email once a week with a link to their new coupons, click the ones I want, and print.
