Montessoris

Anyone have experience with these?

There's one right around the corner from us so we are going to look on Monday. DS (14 mos) is home now with a babysitter but we thinking of starting him in "school' at 18 months or 2 years. There's a really great Bright Horizons Learning Center on site near my office but a) I work from home a lot and b) DH works nowhere near it so I would have to do drop off and pickup everyday (see first point too).

Thanks!

Re: Montessoris

  • No kids yet so no experience from that perspective but I went to a Montessori school in Wilmington from ages 3-10 and have very fond memories of it. My mother still raves about the education that my sister and I got there. I think it's a great program and will consider it for my daughter when the time comes.

  • Make sure they are accredited!

I know a lot of the theories since children's museums and museum Ed come from them. I think they can be really great places for the rigtht kids.

  • My nephews go to a Montessori school in Wilmington and I am very impressed with respectful and neat those kids are.  I would send the monster to one if I had the money!
