Birth Stories
With so many people on our board pregnant, I thought it'd be fun to write about our own birth stories! You know the ones our parents exagerated while telling us growing up (hopefully I'm not the only one who got these stories haha). According to what you were told, were you planned or not, when did they find out, how did they break the news to everyone, did they find out gender or wait to be surprised? Anything

Haha sometimes that can be good
My mom had a very hard time concieving. It took her 5 years between my brothers, then 2 years later I came along and it was a great surprise. She said she knew all along that I was a girl.
I was born on 10-31, Halloween morning via a scheduled c-section. My mom had a very hard time with all 4 c-sections she had because she says felt almost everything. However, she says my birth was the easiest!
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
I only know a few things. I was planned. My mom actually had a hard time getting pregnant and was on Clomid (a fertility drug) which is why I'm a twin. We were born via emergency c-section about 5-6 weeks early because they lost one of our heartbeats. My mom said she didn't find out she was having twins until she was almost 5 months along. Both my uncles thought we were boys but my mom waited for us to be born to find out. My mom said that they brought in a bunch of med students to watch the emergency c-section. As it was at 1:00 in the morning I'm thinking it might have been some residents and probably not nearly as many as my mom claims were in there.
My parents tried for a little over 11 years before I came along. I was conceived about 6 weeks after my grandmother passed away, and my mom is convinced that I am basically her spirit born again. Which in many ways I do believe. She found out because she passed out at work when my dad was hanging drywall on our garage ceiling. She was in shock because they were told it was never going to happen. Anyway, my mom was carrying so large, they actually did an u/s early because they thought I was twins. I was not. They also were pretty sure I was a girl, but back then they wouldn't commit.
She also likes to tell me about how the doctor, in the middle of the morning, told her to go home and get some sleep, because it was going to be a long night. I ended up being born a few minutes before 1 am. I also ended up staying in the hospital about 4 days before I went home, not because I needed it, but I pinched one of my mom's nerves in her leg on the way out. She actually was not able to carry me for the first 8 weeks.
BUT, Js birth story is much better than mine. He was an unplanned for child, and his mom tells me stories about crying before going to see a movie, I think working girl. However, his dad was on a business trip right before her due date. He was in Michigan and was told by his wife not to come home. She went into labor right as the last flight left, and J was born about 30 minutes before he got to the hospital.
My parents weren't going to TTC until September of 91...and that's when I ended up being born. I was the shortest labor of my mom's four kids and the smallest baby. I had the cord wrapped around my neck three or four times when I was born and came out bright blue. After they handled that, they couldn't get me to cry. I was breathing on my own but they couldn't get me to take that first big gulp of air. They had to flick the bottom of my foot really hard.
Oh and my mother craved anything chocolate. That's pretty much all she ate when she was pregnant with me. Haha.
That's all I know lol.
