How was your trip?   What did you guys do?  I haven't been to NYC in a long time, so I want to live vicariously through you!

Re: *Emmy*

  • It was wonderful, we had a great time!! I will share the details.

We got in late Friday night (around 10 by the time we took a cab to our hotel from the airport) so we just enjoyed a glass of wine & some burgers at our hotel bar :)

On Saturday, we headed out to times square after eating a leisurely breakfast and just wandered around, did a little shopping and exploring.  We had tickets to "Nice work if you can get it" at 2pm, so we got lunch and headed to the theater.  The play starred Matthew Broderick and Blythe Danner was in it as well; I was really pleasantly surprised with how much I liked the show!  It was so funny in some parts, my stomach hurt from laughing....Matthew Broderick was fantastic to see.  (I was also hoping for a Sarah Jessica Parker sighting, but no go on that)

We went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Times Square that night, then our plans were to go to see "Silver Linings Playbook" but we should have purchased our tickets earlier in the day, it was sold out :(  So we called it a night a bit early after walking around all day & headed back to the hotel.

On Sunday, we went to Rockefeller Center and did some more shopping and sight-seeing, then got manicures and had lunch at a deli.  We had dinner reservations with Melissa's cousins at 8pm at one of Mario Batalli's (sp?) restaurants, so we came back to the room around 3 to relax, eat the cupcakes we had picked up, and watch some trashy TV (hello, Catfish marathon) before we got ready for dinner (shhhh---don't tell anyone, we went to NYC and laid around our hotel room for 3 hours and it was glorious!!) Surprise  Dinner that night was delicious, too.  We headed to the airport around 9am yesterday.

All in all, a great trip that involved resting and not having to get anyone ready or feed anyone but myself! :)  I feel rejuvenated.

  • Sounds perfect to me!   It's so nice to enjoy meals and showers and a whole bunch of nothing in silence just yourself.   I'm glad you had a nice time.
